If war broke out between N and S Korea I would not want the US military involved. As for the 30,000 troops we have there now, if N Korea attacks S Korea, those American troops will die, and Obama won’t really have a choice. At this stage I doesn’t seem likely the US or South Korea will mobilize troops and attack. I don’t think Kim Jong-il wants war with the United States, and I don’t like China and Japan want war on their door steps, so I think their governments will do what they can to prevent that. The more I learn, the less worried I am.
