Ok, so I’ve been thinking about this since I first saw the Ian come back thread a while ago.

What happens if there is a major issue that the moderators need him/his password for?

Is the site in jeopardy of going down and never coming back up, since the creator isn’t around??

Is there a plan in place if the site crashes??

I had a dream that I set up an exact replica board, called Oh Kee Pah 2. It was just kept on the back burner. Then when this site went down, we coordinated on facebook okp page and all migrated to the new one.

Anyhow, it’s just a thought. I always think about disaster response crap like this. I don’t know the first thing about how any of this works, so if my concerns are moronic please for give the town worrier?

I bet somehow proboards could transfer the administrator status to someone. Or, we could just get Assquatch on the case and get Ian over here.

If it did die, I’m pretty sure that would be enough to get Ian over to sign in but at the moment all I can do is ask, and ask, and ask…

I haven’t said it in so many words, but I mentioned people thinking about starting up a different board. His password is the same for this as it is for his email add and banking etc so I don’t think he wants to give it out which is fair enough. It just means he actually has to come here to do anything and I have asked numerous times. I’m not sure what else I could do.

Thats pretty weird that he won’t even log on just to transfer power or whatever.

It’ll take five minutes out of his day for him to log in to the Pa, go into the preferences, change his password, than send that new password to a mod.

Does he hate us so much that he won’t spend 5 minutes on us?

He doesn’t hate you. It probably looks like I’m doing nothing but I really have asked him numerous times. I’m guessing people on here have already sent him an email or two asking for him to drop by? I’ll text him tomorrow and remind him but I don’t want to keep bugging him to be honest.

I’m sure if the site were to go down for some reason and we were to contact him and explain what was going on, he’d be down for looking into it and fixing it.

There’s a lot of ways of reaching him, through Facebook, email, and folks who know him over the pond.

IMO, we don’t have to worry, the 'Pa isn’t going anywhere.

It is really sad to me that the only reason he would come back is if the site disappeared. And I don’t even know if he would come then…

Yeah, is there any story as to why he left? I always thought he just kind of lost interest, but sometimes I see shit people post and it leads me to believe differently.

Anyone know what the deal is, fo realz?

He’s been busy with work, studying and a girlfriend. It’s not for me to say much more really, he can speak for himself when he comes on. The pa isn’t the only thing that feels it’s taken a bit of a back-seat though so you aren’t alone.

I sent him a text about the board and passwords on Thursday, still no reply and it’s now Saturday. I understand it’s frustrating for you guys but I don’t really want to hassle him about it any more than I already have over the last year.

Understandable. I guess it’s ok if he has a life outside of the Oh Kee Pah. Maybe.
