alright… while the ‘format vote’ is techinically still open until sunday night its looks like we have a tournament in store. i figure we can start getting things organized… so if you’d like to take part, here what you need to do:

- post your (okp and gameknot) screen name on this thread[/b]
depending on how many people sign up we’ll have a few rounds that will culminate in a final match 5-6 weeks from now. the tournament will result in a ranking that will designate your priority in making polls.
[b]general logistics:
- when the list of participants has been finalized divisions will be designated
- you will play each person in your division twice (as both white and black); be prepared to play many as six games at a time
- rounds will last a designated amount of time (tba)
- instances where games are not completed to “mate,” the capture score will define the winner
- win = 1 pt; draw = .5
- the top point score in each division will move on to the next round
- if a round ends with multiple players in a division holding an equal score, all top scores will move on to the next round.
- games are set at an allowance of 3 days per move, but it is hoped that those who sign up will move at least once a day.[/b]
if you’re a chess noob, don’t be overwhelmed by the rules… just sign-up for an account, past your name here, and await further instructions.
