One of the most diverse Live years ever.

Before this year… you expected to see Torn and Frayed?

I didn’t know what it was at the show, but in the listens since I’ve discovered that Albuquerque is a bad-ass song.

Hell yea, neil young tunes rock

BOOYA!!

^^^^^^^^^^

Anyone have a current count on different songs played?

According to ZZYZX’s Phish Stats, 242. Beating '98 by 2. And NYE hasn’t even hit yet.

^

Phish’s shows in 2009 have now featured more unique songs (242) than any other year in Phish’s history, edging out 1998 which had 240 songs but included two entire albums covered and the “summer of covers” and included 71 shows (compared to only 51 in 2009)!

Well, it has been an amazing year. My prayers were answered…the boys are back and better than ever…as far as diversity, I am glad they are choosing to be diverse with their OWN music…(still a lot of covers though  )

it was bound to happen as many new songs have been written since 98…

This kicks so much ass! Way to go, Boys!

Well 6 more were included on 12/31/09…Swept Away>Steep, Demand, Auld Lang Syne, Blue Moon, N20!

Making a grand total of 248 songs played during the year.

248 songs have been played (33% of songs Phish have played).
The average number of songs per show is 22.5.
The average amount of times each song was played is 4.55.
There were 99 onetimers
1 songs were in a three show rotation.
21 songs were in a four show rotation.
43 songs were in a five show rotation.

This is the one that is most staggering to me!

For me it’s (33% of songs Phish have played).

That means that despite playing more different songs live than in any other year, they still only played 1/3 of their catalog.

Also…this is only Live stats that IHOZ covers. They also released two albums this year (yeah, Party Time counts as an album), and most of the songs on Party Time haven’t even been played yet.

I wonder what 2010 will hold.

I know, I am so stoked for the Summer  Who knows what will happen - especially after a few months off.

NO KIDDING! I am actually really happy they are taking a little time off to stretch their legs, whether that be just relaxing with their families or hitting the road with their respective side projects. They are going to come back in the summer with a BANG, and I cannot wait to witness it!

What a great (and diverse) year 09 was. Hopefully they have 3 or 4 more years in them. Let’s make it to 30 years boys!!!
