Our President

Cool, thanks zoot…

^ Would Bush be granted the same positive view of this? The answer would be no.

I am not opposed to Obama doing this, as I see the good in it. It’s just that he has opposed this type of thing before, that’s my only issue. Just a politician being a politician.

I do have a problem with the Soros side of this. His hedge fund has made some major bank in the past off of key deals similar to this. He’s taking advantage of the system, but I guess I really can’t blame him. I wish I knew enough to do the same. Then I could afford to take us all on the fall tour! BOO YA!

You’re right. After 8 years of getting to know how Bush works, it’s kind of tough to see any positives, IMO, associated with that dude.

I’ll give Obama the benefit of the doubt until I have reason not to.

Well these comments look quaint now…

Seems like W and Obama were centuries ago…

Being a white man in the automotive industry, it is generally assumed that I am a Trumper. This annoys me. I had a meeting with one of the largest manufacturers of heavy machinery earlier this week, and it started out with one dude slobbing Trump’s knob. It was disgusting.

Amazing that we don’t typically talk politics here, I’ve often wondered why. But then it’s not typically fun either, so I don’t mind. I live in a conservative white town that seems to love the guy, and it’s pretty rough. The news is making me crazy on a daily basis while this jerk does every destructive maneuver in the book. I want to tell his supporters: He’s not destroying what you THINK he’s destroying.

^ I generally avoid talking politics to keep the peace (Twitter is a different story). When I want to upset people here, I just give a show a bad review.

Amazing that we don’t typically talk politics here,

Because politics fucking suck, it’s all about which lies you believe, and it’s not even remotely enjoyable to discuss it. I’ve seen a few other jamband boards that have a politics section and it’s awful…just millenials acting like victims, claiming they know all the answers and insulting anyone who has a dissenting opinion. Politics makes people retarded.

In the end, I think we overreact far too much to what folks say (or tweet) since usually nothing comes of it. And given that almost nothing Trump is doing is being voted on by Congress, basically all of it will be reversed once he’s gone just as easily as it was passed. That’s politics now, it seems. He’s a minor inconvenience but isn’t near as bad as some other presidents I can think of (starting a war for no reason, for example).

In the end, it’s very humorous to see how media and other politicians have no idea how to handle him at all. When I see folks hurling insults and playing his game, it just gives him exactly what he wants. Even more disappointing that Trump has been the extremely childish ways that many politicians have tried to deal with him. They’re all so stupid.

And I’m convinced there’s no such thing as unbiased media anymore…it just plain doesn’t exist. I used to bristle about the idea of the “liberal media” but it’s impossible to ignore now…folks don’t even try to pretend they’re not biased while, at the same time, still claiming to be news organizations.

Which lies indeed. Trouble is, the alternate media folks are turning to is even faker.

Trouble is, the alternate media folks are turning to is even faker.

So true. Like 10 years ago, I knew folks who insisted that Infowars was giving us the “real” stories. I wonder what they think now.

I voted for this guy in the last 4 elections, he never won…

^ Maybe if he’d release an album ever once in a while.

^ Maybe if he’d release an album ever once in a while.

Didn’t he like release one album a day for like two months one time? I figure you can bust out one of those.

Probably the same. Infowars and the like are still extremely popular, perhaps moreso than ever.

What the fuck, guys.

What the fuck.

I’m no fan of government or competing parties or politicians or any of it, but this guy is particularly distasteful.

I already feel less terrorized. Thank you USA for voting out the most destructive person I’ve ever known of in my lifetime. It’s beyond left vs right, when actual truth and facts can’t be honored and respected.

Just chiming in on this from across the pond. Congratulations on the Biden/Harris result, guys! I think this will be a great change of direction for you and will hopefully repair some of the damage done.

On a side note, I couldn’t believe voter turnout was so low, even though news reports were saying it was your highest for years! Why is it that such large numbers of people don’t bother voting in the US?

^I’d imagine the turnout is mostly because there’s a bit of a disconnect between electing a big grand pubbah in Washington DC and seeing actual change happen where you live. Not to mention that we only have two parties to choose from and they both kind of suck. I didn’t like either of these guys myself.

Doesn’t help that major elections drag for close to a year and a half and I think everyone’s sick of it by the end…I’m very jealous of how quick parliament elections zip by in other places.
