Surges most certaintly will kill innocent men, women and children. How does integrity fit in with this? Or is it just collateral damage? additionally do you think surges and subsequent killing of innocents radicalizes more people to become terrorists or keeps us safe, or both? Or neither?
^The thing is that people in America want a President who is going to bomb shit. He talked all kinds of shit about killing Osama Bin Laden while he was campaigning. This is about him not looking like a pussy. The Republicans managed to make Dukakis, and Kerry look like pussies and he wasn’t going to have it. Now he’s got to go bomb people to appease the racist warmongers who aren’t just lobbiests and weapons manufacturers, they’re the millions of hillbillies who buy Kenney Chesney records who aren’t going to vote for someone who isn’t going to blow shit up.
I understand that this sucks, but integrity is not a quality, traditionally, that leads men to great political careers. I don’t know if you know anyone that you consider to have integrity, but I doubt that they are politicians or have any desire to become one. I’m not saying all politicians don’t have some good intentions, but all in all the American political system has evolved in to a corrupt power structure.
^Are you saying that Obama is willing to bomb innocent people for political gain amongst the Hillbillies that buy Chesney records?
This isn’t a real question. Everyone knows my opinion on this, although I just think he’d bomb people to make the weapons manufacturers happy, I don’t think he gives 2 shits about the Hillbillies, but if they want to come along for the ride then so be it and the Obamabot liberals to boot and the progressives. He’ll take anyone on that wants to ride the bomb’em bus in the name of killing Osama.
which is why, I believe, the United States should disband. bring back the Confederacy! regional differences in this country are too great for the federal government to operate effectively.
here’s an interesting article, which has some good points but I don’t entirely agree with: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123051100709638419.html
Well Fluffy if we simply adhere to The Constitution we would have a limited Federal government and more states rights.
Have you read Ron Paul’s views on how to fix our problems? He is from Texas you know…
Seriously though just go read what he has to say and I’m sure you’ll find it’s very reasonable and can be done with some hard work.
I’ve read Paul, not a fan.
I am not a constitutionalist by any means.
You do realize that slavery existed in the confederacy, and the last time states succeeded from the union there was a civil war?
I know the history of the US pretty damn well. do you really think that the South would re-establish slavery without the North controlling them? and check out that link I posted, it’s an interesting read (not what I think will happen though).
Oh no, they obviously wouldn’t. But One means re-establishing something, especially under the same name like that, would not be good news, IMO.
It is quite interesting. He even drew out where he thought the U.S. would split and named the different regions.
Well Fluffy in that case. I love you anyway!!!
According to the Constitution you have every right to live any way you want as long as your not hurting anyone. PERIOD.
YOU GO BUNNY!!, YOU GO!!!
The United States has committed countless atrocities across the world; Tuskegee, Guantanamo Bay, Hiroshima + Nagasaki, Iran/Contra, dozens of coups in South America led by the CIA, a larger eugenics program than the Nazis at one point, trained dozens of brutal dictators… and that’s just off the top of my head.
^Don’t forget genocide in the Philippines and against Native Americans.
The point was that re-establishing something that is most remembered for being connected with slavery would be unfavorable, IMO. Changing the name of a Country would obviously be a petty attempt at clearing our name and would really do nothing except receive criticism. If we have a choice though in creating a region, it should be something completely new and clearly created for different reasons, IMO.
If you disagree, that’s fine.
YES all true, however these acts were taken by defrauding and lying to the people of this country.
Your mom and my mom would never have done any of those things.
The government has been hijacked by the Military Industrial Complex and the Banking cabal for sure.
I always try and make that point I don’t hate the government, I hate the hijacked government that doesn’t listen to the people or recognize the Constitution.
no, i agree with you Marco. I don’t think you fully understand me though. in my opinion, the best thing for this country would be to dissolve it into smaller regions, similar to what the Russian proposed (although I disagree with his borders). when I said “bring back the confederacy,” I was suggesting that one of these regions would succeed if it compromised the land which was the confederacy. past history here is not an issue, I should have clarified that earlier.
^speaking of which have you heard of the republic of Lakotah? It’s right here inside the USA
CHECK IT OUT!
VERY COOL.
I was away for a while, but I did some reading; The “public option” Is not yet gone from the bill, although it has changed to some degree, and there IS a chance it will not be included in the final legislation. I found this column from the Examiner. If you have time read all parts of this. This guy seems to have a pretty level headed, unbiased opinion, and there is some good info on here. (if you can only read a couple, try to read parts 4, 5, 6):

Starting at part 4:
Ah, gotcha. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
it’s pretty wild what’s happening in this country right now isn’t it? people are waking up to the true depths of gov’t corruption and are supremely pissed off about it. i happen to believe, despite lots and lots of negative press, both mainstream and alternative, that Obama isn’t a complete puppet of the bankers, and is playing an essential role in shaking up the old power structure. it’s a ‘benefit of the doubt’ thing. we’ll see, i guess.
What do you all think about this? Crap? Truth? Implausible? Obvious?
On August 19th Fox News aired a short piece concerning the Obama administration granting a two billion dollar loan to PETROBRAS, the government owned and operated national oil company of Brazil. Normally something like this would “fly under the radar”. However there are things in this deal which smell of corruption at the presidential level.
First, the loan is specifically for oil drilling, something Mr. Obama is patently against here in the United States. We all know he is against “real world” energy independence and has shown that by canceling all oil and natural gas lease sales on public land. This has been carefully hidden from public and media review.
Second, Mr. Obama sent his National Security Advisor, General James L. Jones to Brazil to broker the deal. This is far below General Jones’s pay grade so one might question just why Obama wouldn’t trust someone of lesser rank to run this errand.
Third, it turns out that billionaire socialist and loyal Obama supporter, George Soros has recently acquired an 811 million dollar stake in PETROBRAS which amounts to 22% of Mr. Soros’s portfolio. This is pure political payback for all the money and support funneled to Obama through MoveOn.org and other avenues during and after the presidential campaign!
Those are the facts as reported by Fox News and my research. The problem is how to get this in front of the American people when the main stream media will not touch it. The healthcare debate is at the forefront of our news as well it should be. Could it be that Obama is using healthcare as a smoke screen for this deal and who knows how many other transgressions?

The US Export Import Bank is designed to help American companies and American workers compete in the global market place. The 2 billion dollar loan was not a give away to the commies in Brazil or a payback to “billionaire socialist” George Soros. It was designed to promote American made products in the oil industry. Phil Cogan:
“This is the government doing what it’s supposed to do: Create jobs and make sure that Americans get a fair shot at selling goods and services – not the British or the French or anyone else – and to help American workers compete on a level playing field.”
This loan ensures that Brazil will increase the global energy supplies using American made products. Oh my god, the controversy! Let’s impeach Obama for providing a loan, which will be payed back plus interest, that safeguards American jobs!
Oh and by the way, the bank is self-sustaining. It does not rely on tax dollars.
