Paperless tickets for T-ride!!

This just posted on Phish’s website:

"Tickets go on sale to the public for Phish’s August 9th and 10th Telluride Town Park shows beginning tomorrow, Friday April 2nd, at Noon Mountain Time.

In an effort to curb scalping and put tickets directly into the hands of fans, we are introducing paperless, non-transferable tickets for ALL Phish tickets sold via TicketHorse.com. Instead of a paper ticket, you bring the credit card used for your ticket purchase and it will be swiped. Once your ticket purchase is identified, it will be immediately traded for a 2-day wristband. Tickets for this show are only available as part of a 2-day ticket for entry to both 8/9 and 8/10. You cannot purchase tickets for individual days."

Frickin’ sweet! I have a wee bit more hope of getting tickets now! fingers crossed

That is awesome.

Man, I wish I could get out there!

I think its great too. We will see if the E-bay price will drop like stones or the scalpers will find a work-around for this too.

This sounds like a great idea.
If this works maybe they could apply it to other shows.

So…noon tomorrow will decide my fate. I don’t know why I’m so nervous about this. If I don’t get in I don’t get in…but man, this would totally make my year. I just hate that the closest show to me (which is still about 18 hours away) is also the smallest venue they are playing. Why can’t they just add some Gorge shows? …or a festival at Soo Pass!

this makes me happy even though I’m not going…good luck everybody!

^I’m in the same boat. The only shows I really CAN go to are the smallest ones. If nothing else pans out, I’ll make the trek for Deer Creek and Alpine, but these small venues are killing me. I just wish there was a way to get tickets when you arrive instead of wristbands. They know that a lot of us collect our stubs, there’s gotta be a way to screw the scalpers and still let us have stubs.

^yeah I’m hoping if they move to this for all shows, they’ll start sending out pretty tickets after the tour for collections

This idea looks great on paper.

I’m here all night folks, don’t forget to tip your waitress.

^but…OH!..wait…AHHH Okay… I see whaja did there…

ANDY FUNNY!!

I used Ticket Horse’s paperless ticket system in March for the Further shows. I handed my credit card to the ticket checker and point out my guests. Then they gave us wristbands and we were in. Easy.

Scalpers would have to stand in line with all their customers and show a new credit card for each group of two. Maybe they will for a couple grand $$$. I think this is great though. Keeping the tickets in the hands of the fans. Especially for the high-demand shows.

There is a way to transfer your tickets using the flashticket system. I am certain the scalpers know this better than the average phan.
