Didn’t get it. This song goes nowhere. Only two parts to the whole song.
my take on it is that they were prob in the studio jamming when all of a sudden fishman starts yelling into the mic, It’s Party Time, It’s Party Time, It’s Party Time… and then they were like… yeah yeah Party Time, fuck yeah… It’s Party Time… then they all went nutz and jammed out and decided hell this is as good as any of the other songs we’ve been writing, but when push came to shove and they had to decide on what would be the real release “joy” edged out “party time”
give “party time” a few more times to be played, it’ll be a monster
It just makes me smile and groove. Watching that vid, I even giggled a little bit. It’ll be a great opener or part of multi-song encore.
I love Party Time. Just listened for the first time. Reminds me of The Grateful Dead with Phish lyrics. Mainly that riff Trey plays.

I duno but i dig it. Its like a mix between Cars, Trucks, Buses and Iko Iko with band member shouting Party Time! Its certainly not some crazy masterpiece of a song. Just a cool little song.
I could see a set where they would play other songs, and keep coming back to this one circa Moby Dick at Der Krik. That would be a fun night.

I just wanna say that Fish’s drumming on the studio version of Party Time is amazing…maybe the best I’ve ever heard him.
I love Party Time. I get the instrumental sections stuck in my head sometimes. It was awesome seeing the debut at my first show.
