Has anyone ever experienced Phish coincidences …Like you will be driving in traffic and you cruising @ top speed to an insane split or antelope and it just feels like every turn you make or pass or stop all kind of goes with the jam. This kind of thing seems to happen all the time …or if your in the middle of a great divided sky coming home from work and the sky really is divided …WOW !!
talk about being looked after? and the whole word association thing is crazy sometimes I cannot get through the day without associating the boyz to something someone says or does…like " that thing was so heavy I needed some help carrying it…or a concoction in chemistry always made me think of REBA…or the many antelope signs all over New England …or how many times has your life even after Phish has made you think maybe so or really maybe not…think it over good luck…peace
I had a really amazing freeway driving/Slave to the Traffic Light experience a couple weeks ago. I just about drove off the road, it blew my mind so much. Also, one time we started Fantasia 2000 at some random point in the movie while listening to Esther. I don’t think it could ever be repeated, but at that moment it easily could have been the soundtrack for the animation.
I know what you mean about relating your daily life to Phish. I’m incapable of saying “maybe” without saying “so, maybe not”.
I’m not sure if this story really fits, but too bad haha.
Once I was driving to a show from Indiana to Pennsylvania, and there was a horrible down pour. Me and my buddy were listening to some show, don’t remember what it was, but I do remember it had a long jammed out “Maze”. So I am driving through this storm, where I can barely see the road in front of me, and I am just entranced by this “Maze”. Ten minutes go by, still, raining… 15 minutes, still can’t see… Coming up on twenty minutes and Maze is just coming to an end and the storm practically dissapears from the sky. My buddy remarks something about “I guess we finally got out of the Maze”, which was what I was thinking at that same exact moment…

I may be reading into things too much but check this out: The cover of The Beatles final studio effort, Let It Be, is four pictures of the band members in a square. The cover of Phish’s final studio effort, Undermind, is the same. Seeing as Phish was so influenced by John, Paul, George, and Ringo, coincidence or not? I thought that was interesting…
Not their last, but the GREAT Talking Heads have “Remain in Light” with their four faces on it. How I wish they could be together again.
And I’m not sure if I am correct in this, but isn’t “Face Dances” by the Who one of their last albums? And that album cover has four pictures each of its four members.
And who can forget Kiss… oh wait… nevermind, I hate Kiss and wish I could forget them.

I sometimes will be driving down the road, usually on an interstate or highway, and I’ll have some great Phish jam blaring. In sync with the music, my speed will change accordingly. The thing is, I’M NOT AWARE I’M DOING IT. For instance - the 11.17.97 Ghost makes me speed faster and faster up until about 13-14 minutes, then I’ll just coast along. The 9.14.00 Suzy is the same way. I know I’m speeding, but I’m too entranced by the music to even care that I’m doing it.

just now, not 15 minutes ago, i was driving back from the music shop with a brand new set of flat wound strings, and i was listening to the 7.29.98 gin. as the first part of the jam climaxed, where trey plays that lick that’s reminiscient of the divided sky, a huge flock of birds cruised right in front of my car, and made me smile. they were birds of a feather.
I’ve come way too fucking close to being pulled over because of that shit… Pretty much any Antelope will do it. Ghost, Stash and Piper too.
Especially if you’re in an altered state of mind…!

In Sep 98 i was driving around town (Ann Arbor). I was listening to Birds while Frat and Sorority rush was going on. Tons of kids lined up outside the doors of the houses waiting to be chosen. The words to Birds never made more sense than that day!
i have done this hundreds of times and some people have never heard of this. “what is it” you ask? well in the spirit of the floyd and the wiz o’ oz, if you play rift with fantasia. holy tomatos! you may be thinking… yeah right. well yeah. right?! here’s the low down… put disc in your player and set it to repeat the entire album and get it ready to play ( pause it right as rift starts so you just have to hit play for the song to go… it eliminates wasting time to fing the first track.) once that’s set up play the movie from the beginning, and after the orchestra finishes tuning and the conductor gets up and raises his arms to start the show ( GET READY) as soon as he drops his hands hit play. some seements are go frame for word. lengthwise and the beginning of maze w/ the shrooms are one of my favs. rift will play 2 1/2 times. enjoy the devine creation.

I have one. I was playing online poker last night in a table called “Hamburg” and I decided to pour a drink and listen to some music. I thought, “fuck it, I’ll play whatever is in the CD player.” So I popped it on and lo and behold, “Cities” starts ringing out…Slip Stitch and Pass!!!
