I nearly always skip Guyute, My Soul, Julius, Sparkle, Farmhouse, and Golgi, but I never skip shorter songs like Lawn Boy, Rocky Top, Poor Heart, etc. I also sometimes tend to skip songs when they are being played every other show during a tour, like Moma Dance during summer 98–that song got really old really fast on that tour.
I confess i sort of screwed a fan! But it was unintentional! Before night 2 of Uic 98 my buddy Jon decided he could not go to the 3rd show because of school! he also had 2 extra’s for night 2 of the run and knowing i could always find a good nugget trade he left m=e in charge of his extra’s for night 2 and 3! I did a trade just before night 2 and later that night in the hotel i discoverd he gave me the 3rd night ticket’s thinking they were the 2nd night ticket’s. It was totally his fault as he had only givin me 1 pair to trade before night 2. So the guys i traded with got 3rd night tix thinking they were 2nd night and the 2nd night tix sat in the hotel while the show was going on. Sorry Phish community for leaving 2 empty seats for a show that could have been used and enjoyed! Oh well!

They played Beauty of my Dreams a lot in the beginning of the tour. I didn’t mind that, though. It’s short and sweet.
Funnily enough, they played Moma Dance two nights in a row during that tour, and they did the same thing with Black Eyed Katy on the fall 97 tour. Man they ran that fucking song into the ground in both its forms.
It’s funny to know what one song is blowing their horns the most at any given time. ;D
Bizarrely enough, they repeat Sparkle, My Soul, and Character Zero from 11/23 during the next show 11/26. I’m starting to wonder how many other times they’ve repeated songs from the show they just played…
^ One i never understood was Antelope at Alpine 00 and then at the first night of Deer Creek! That made no sense, but whatever! They also did a Mike’s Groove at Vernon 98 then opened with it at the Wheel! Let’s see what else? Oh yeah, Divided Sky at the Palace in 96 then again in Grand Rapids the next show. Funky Bitch at Rosemont 99 then at Redbird the next night! There are plenty more but i’ll leave them to some other fan on the board!
^ I remember the place almost completly emptying when they started into Antelope at Deer Creek. Everyone was so disappointed that they played it at consecutive shows. Now, although it may suck for some people, I always say you can never have too much Antelope! So I stayed and was actually ablt to mosey my way deep into the pavillion for that one song.
And now people have no antelopes at all…bet those people complaining feel pretty stupid now.
^ I always thought the back to back Antelopes were weird too, but I still wouldn’t of left early!
Trey probably couldn’t remember the Alpine show at all…that’s probably why it happened.
I must confess, that Antelope at the Creek was played in honor of me. See Antelope has always been my most played song, and Trey thought it would be funny to give me one extra Antelope for my 150th show (7-10-00)…bastard! ;D
