For once I’m not gonna explain the idea behind this big project. I figure I’ve explained it in all 6 of the other threads, and I just can’t keep going around the country typing you enjoy explanation.

Vol. 1 features Jeff Holdsworth on (I think) every track, and is the only volume with Jeff on it. So it’s exclusively and entirely Phish w/Jeff Holdsworth. Possum is on here w/Jeff singing lead vocals (even though I included “Possum” w/Mike singing on the Gamehenge set), same with Camelwalk.

It’s a pretty good collection of highlights from those days … lots of these versions are early and somewhat different in structure & lyrics, so it’s interesting. In general the recordings sound fantastic considering how old they are.

I’m sure you’re right about that … but again, just going for early versions, as to emulate how an album would have sounded if they’d done one back when the songs were new.
