That video makes me think he’s being mauled by a big black furry creature by mars during the song.

not youtube but a phish video gem, no doubt. debuting Farmhouse on Conan in 97. easily one of the best Phish TV talk appearances, Trey absolutely goes off into it during this one
^One of my favorite eras…it’s the VERY short period where ALL FOUR had a beard. And you can HEAR the beard power. They sound good…and you’re right…five minutes on a late night show? Unheard of! And why don’t they do that cool reverb effect anymore?..that version sounds so much “richer” than the ones now.
Also Phish is the best…“Hey, we’re promoting our new live album…let’s play a song no one’s heard that isn’t on that album!”
^ That is great, never seen it. Thanks for the awareness.
I’d never seen it either. I love it, it’s my favorite period of the band, and its contrast against the culture evident in the show they’re mashed into, is f*cking priceless. Love the YEM tramps jam, Trey is ripping holes in the continuum and there’s a big black dude behind Page groovin’ to the groove.

Seems to have a wacky delay in the sound, but it’s a cool video. Valentine’s Day this week too, this is from 24 years ago.

… and I just noticed Glenn totally posted this a few years back. And I think these clips are better too.
^Wow! Missed that one. I’ll have to check that one out sometime.
Good find.
gems indeed
glad to have found this thread/board.
Ahhhhh. This may have been posted before… Maybe so… Maybe not…

On May 20, 1987 Vermont’s own Phish played a house party at The Ranch in Shelburne, Vermont that was videotaped for posterity and stands as the oldest circulating footage of the band. In the video below, we get to see the shaggy, longhaired members of the band performing in front of tie-died backdrops and surrounded by their friends.
bout three years ago upgraded video of the set surfaced on YouTube and still stands as the highest quality footage of the 1987 performance on the site, though it’s thought the band has the master VHS in the vault. For now this video is a great document of the quartet’s early days:
Set: Wilson, Run Like an Antelope, Golgi Apparatus, Back Porch Boogie Blues, Lushington, Possum, Harry Hood, You Enjoy Myself, Alumni Blues

Just joined the forum today. Posting one of my favorite Phish Youtube videos, which also happens to be my favorite version of Split Open and Melt:

Trey’s got the military look going on in this one. Super cool to see what an early 90s Phish crowd was like in the beginning of the video too.
