ok, so i’m listening to 8/13/96 II the other day, and after i finish the mike’s groove> Somewhere over the Rainbow portion i decide to pop on a new SBD i just got from a record store. It’s an import from Italy (Firenze to be exact) and the first track is titled Intro>Wilson>Brother, the intro being Trey noodling around with SOTR. Being the first time listening to this disc and having just heard this song moments before befuddled me since i haven’t heard more than 2 versions of this played ever. Like always I tried to find meaning in this but after a few seconds of deep thought I decided to let it go and listen to the disc. The show this is from is 3/13/92 in Providence, RI and this is the first Secret Language explanation i’ve heard, pretty cool stuff.
The encore is YEM from 7/25/92 w/ Santana. Choice disc.
I remember those damn “import” discs from the local independent record store.
they always were double or triple the price of normal cds, so I rarely got them, but they were always interesting gems.
now they kind of seem insignificant with the age of the internet and all. you can get pretty much anything you want if you aren’t lazy like me
I do believe there is some Somewhere Over the Rainbow noodling before Antelope on 1992-03-13 as well. I could be wrong though… Been a while.
