Seriously I would go here: Never heard the show and was told the music wasn’t that stellar but the scene was memorable.

I might pick 10-31-94. Was there any show, up to that point, that generated as much hype and pre-show energy? It was known before the show that Phish was going to do an album in its entirety, right?

That’s not a hypothetical, I’m curious to see what anyone in attendance says.

yup. good pick…t’was a magical night! lots of energy in the house before the show. there always was on halloween, but especially this one!

my pick would have to be 8-21-87. love this show!

I guess I’ll sum up a lot of posts into 1 thread: 3/22/93… I was looking for a live version of my fave new song, RIFT, by PHISH…so I checked HIPBOB’s files on the network at school and saw this show in BOLD letters…so i looked and sure enough there was a Rift in the first set… EPIC show, first DL and that REBA has to be the most intense pause>pickup jam of any that i’ve heard.

Then GAMEHENGE ;D… crazy how the first show i hear is the best narration ever…IT’S ICE>LIZARDS makes me shiver still… I HAD NO CLUE WHAT WAS GOING ON, BUT I KNEW I LOVED IT!

side note: My only shows were 8/10/04-8/11/04 GREAT WOODS, unfortunately… “WHO’S GOT MY PHISH!!!”

Just listened to the 8.11.04 Suzy–>DwD today. God I love that Suzy.

8.11 was the best time I had that summer out of 9 shows. Deer Creek and Alpine were lots of fun too though.

Suzy is the highlight of that show, its an awesome rendition. Too bad its the second song of the evening…

Antelope–>2001 is the highlight of the show imo

I might say 10-31-94 as well. I’ve been a Beatle nut all my life, and I used to say things like, “I’d love to hear them play some Beatles”. Then on that night, we knew they were playing an album, and I just couldn’t really get to the show … they left it a surprise, so I couldn’t have known. I did kick myself over missing it a little bit.

I was a lucky lucky guy and got to be at 3-13-92 … let it be known that Mike had the wig on when he came out for set 2. That’s firmly in my memory of that show, and if you’ve seen the wig, perhaps you understand. That was the fourth of four Phish shows I got to see at the Campus Club - I think tickets were $10. And even though it’s the best of the four, the other three were solid shows too. I might like to see one of those again, actually!

After dropping a banana peel into the Flux Capacitor, I would set the dial for 11AM, December 31st, 1995. That way I would have enough time to get the doc to help me sneak into the Garden and find some good supplies before show time!

I’d echo the Cypress requests here. I’d also leave the present in the morning and arrive at Cypress in the evening - that way, no danger of feeling tired for the entire set. I’m also not so familiar with it - only listened to it a couple of times (if loving SBDs is wrong…etc) so it would also be fairly musically fresh.

Failing that. Denver 97 (the Denver Ghost one) is one of my faves but perhaps I’m too familiar.

Red Rocks 94 seems to have a great energy and I’ve never been there so maybe that too.

To be fair though - if I had the delorean I’d probably go back to 1985, kill Trey and post a notice at Goddard looking for musos and form my own band with all these killer songs.
