Both of these are Mount Everest. The first one is taken from a plane flying somewhere around 25,000 to 35,000 feet, and you can see the mountains, especially Everest, poking out of the clouds. Like, way out of the clouds. Also, notice on the second one the cloud around the top of Everest’s summit (Everest is the highest one on the left in the background). Apparently it stays there almost constantly.
I have been really fascinated with Everest lately since I’ve been reading Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer. He gives such a vivid description of what it’s like to climb that monstrous beast of a mountain, and I just marvel at how incredible nature can be. Pretty cool shit.
