yep, when i was in grade school we played against a few teams that had kids who could dunk, granted they were normally like 6’2 already, i remember one time getting dunked on. We played a team from Edge Water Park, NJ. They had a kid that was lightning fast and could jump out of the gym, he came down the court and skyed from about three feet inside the foul line and went right over my shoulders. I distinctly remember the game because they were rejecting a lot of our shots, i had a few swatted into the bleachers. I also remember really learning how to pump fake that game. It was crazy, I’d pump fake, they’d jump up, I’d shoot while they were coming down, and they’d still reject me. It got to the point where I’d have to pump fake, lean under them then shoot, it worked pretty well. We ended up beating them even though they dunked on us a bunch and were blocking shots to the moon, they just didn’t play as a team. It was probably the best win of my basketball career b/c they were such better athletes than us, we just knew how to play team basketball and they didn’t.
god i miss the days of playing basketball competitively
