post hiatus shows

i just realized i don’t have very many post hiatus shows. can some one point me in the right direction?
what are some good ones and what makes them great shows to you?

2/28/03 not just for the Destiny Unbound…the entire show was ridiculous and the Tweezer to open the 2nd set was monumental, I spent the first set behind the stage like 20 rows back, but got stubbed down to the floor at setbreak…so glad that I did.

Other than that, the entire Miami New Years’ run is pretty awesome, with 12/20 and 30 taking the cake.

7.29.03–>IT is the best run overall, post-hiatus

It has everything. Bust-outs, big jams, and the tightest playing of the era.

I’m a big fan of 12.29.03 as well, and 12.30.03, to a lesser extent.

2.26.03 has the best Moma Dance ever, an inspired YEM opener, and a very solid second set with good jams and cool segues.

^ What he said, though I haven’t heard 2/26/03…or have I? Is that the show with the Tweezer? Plus the SPAC shows from 2004.

Cincy '03 has some good stuff, though not quite the strongest all-around shows of PH.

Yep, check out SPAC from '04…that’s all you really need from that year. Maybe Camden too.

GR, there is no Tweezer on 2.26.03. 2.28.03 is the infamous Tweezer show.

^ Right right right. I guess I haven’t heard 2/26 then.

I actually listened to 6/24/04 today in its entirety.

That’s all I have to say about that.

you should give it a chance.

First sets of 2.14.03 and 2.15.03 are pretty awesome, too.

thanks for all the suggestions. the only shows i got to see post hiatus were greensboro nc, charlotte nc, and coventry.
funny story though, i was in the lot before greensboro talking to some dude about what we wanted to hear. i jokingly said “destiny unbound” and he was like “they played that at the last show” but i thought he was kidding! then i heard it later on. the crowd gives me chills everytime i hear it. that’s one of the few post hiatus shows i have a copy of. i’ll have to give it a listen again.

Funny, I’ve got 2/26 but have never heard 2/28. I figure one day I’ll pick up the '03 3-pack.

The IT festival is said to be a great PH sampling.

I understand Summer 03 in general was pretty tight.

I’m w/the SPAC '04 people though, really a pair of cool shows.

I really liked the Hampton 8/09/2004 show, but maybe that’s stupid. And don’t go saying something like “no opinions are stupid”, if you please. What if I’m aiming for stupid? That’d take the console right out of your consolation now, wouldn’t it?

yeah the 7- 29-03 show might be my favorite it has a camelwalk, a mcgrupp, a brother and a harpua, That brother might be my favorite brother period. The jam is filled with so much energy it gets me emotional. The way it resolves with fishman hitting the china symbol right as trey goes back into the main riff is one of my favorite phish moments ever. Not to mention it also contains probably one of the best trey solos I’ve ever heard. Right after brother before they go into harpua the place sounds like its on fire. The crowd seems like they cant handle the energy and then for some reason they start booing(does anyone know why?) and then …HARPUA. The sound the crowd is making durring the oom pas is almost shea stadium like. Like a bunch of little girls screaming. Thats what harpua does to people. Amazing show from start to finish.

The jam out of “Crosseyed” on 7-29-03 is my favorite PH jam, bar none.

Skip them and go back to 2000 and before.

overall, 2003 contains much more interesting music than 2000, imo

Big Cypress?

c’mon, that doesn’t count

Utah. Hose jam in the second set!

One show that you NEVER hear anything about PH-wise is Chicago.
I like that show. Nice jams; only 12 total songs between the 2 sets.

2-21-03 was prolly my fave PH.

Not too many stellar entire shows, moments of bliss here and there
