yep
I had heard a rumor and just got done doing some research…
Don’t know if its been mentioned here, but Deer Creek (Verizon Wireless Center, Noblesville, IN) will be shut down at the end of the concert season.
My sister told me something about a Verizon Wireless Center being built in downtown Indianapolis. Which means bu-bye to our rural outdoor hot-spot paradise of the Midwest. This is the last concert season, but the venue itself won’t be demolished until 2008.
I don’t know which is worse:
-
Deer Creek being replaced by a strip mall
OR -
The last band to play at Deer Creek will be Insane Clown Posse.
very sad, but both are true :’(
I’ve seen 30+ shows at Deer Creek; saw Phish 15 times there from '96-'04 . The first show I saw there was Phish 08-13-96 and the last show I saw there was Roger Waters 09-30-06.
I’ve never enjoyed a venue more than Deer Creek. I get chills and naturally high just driving by and seeing it from the interstate. I share so many memories with many people there.
The lot, the lawn, the taper’s section, the moat, huggin’ the gate in the front row!!!, the shakedown, the white fluff, the heady old school VHS bootleg guy, the creek, all the campgrounds, good family, the beans, and the corn,…I love it all!!!
ah, its all coming back now...
...I can almost smell the colors
I think its time for a little 1 on 1 for me and a couple Deer Creek boots.
peace ya’ll
happy phishin’,

I loved the lawn there that melted into trench. I love camping there and the surrounding campgrounds. I feel like they always brought there A game to at least one night of the annual run at the Creek. I really am sad about this.
