R.I.P. Deer Creek?

This is not happening.

Last night, FOX 59 in Indy reported that Verizon extended their contract and will have a full 2008 concert lineup.

^
Well…sort of.

From today’s Indianapolis Star (online):

Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville no longer is on the sale block.

Entertainment company Live Nation, which owns the amphitheater and 203 prime acres surrounding it, has pulled the site off the market without saying why.
“I can confirm that we have taken the property off the market,” said Live Nation spokesman John Vlautin on Wednesday.

The state’s prime outdoor music venue had been for sale since December.
It is not known whether Los Angeles-based Live Nation is just changing real estate brokers and whether it intends to relist the property.
Jenna Rowe, a spokeswoman for CB Richard Ellis in Indianapolis, the broker for the site, said she couldn’t comment.

The 18-year-old music center is located in a hot area for commercial development in fast-growing Hamilton County near Exit 10 off I-69, where several large-scale commercial projects worth more than $500 million are under way.

When it became known late last year that the amphitheater site was for sale, thousands of music fans and others signed an online petition to try to persuade Live Nation not to sell it.
Live Nation has carried out a full schedule of shows at the venue this summer. It’s not known if pulling the property from the market means Live Nation intends to keep the site as a music center and book shows into 2008.

Previously, the music company said it wanted to sell Verizon Wireless Music Center and some other music venues it owns because the value of the real estate they sat on was worth more than the value of operating the site for music shows.

There is hope!

FOX 59 in Indy?

aren’t you from Idaho?

post a link if you could please

^ you want me to post a non-existent link from last nights TV broadcast? HUh?

I emailed a friend of mine in Muncie this terrible news and he sent me that reply.

and No I’m not from Idaho, good guess though. As anyone can plainly see, it used to say,“location: Idaho” not “from Idaho” and as I’ve stated many times over the last two years I’m from Indiana, Muncie to be exact. Look at show reviews, NFL threads and anything to to with home town venues. Anyway I 've spent the last I’ve years in Oregon and Idaho and now I live in the DC area.

I don’t know why Fox 59 in Indy (a TV broadcast) would say there’s a full 08 line-up if it’s not gonna happen.

Sorry for the hostile reply, my bad.

whoa, ked, chillllllllllllllllllllllll

Long Live Deercreek!!!

Here you guys go. rest easy.

speaking of facts here it is in black and white:

“Verizon says concerts are scheduled through all of 2008.”

Looks like Phoos rumor smells like shit.

No sale for Verizon Wireless Music Center

Fishers - Central Indiana’s largest outdoor music venue is off the market.

Concerts are on indefinitely at the Verizon Wireless Music Center. While that’s good news for music fans, it’s not so great for businesses and even projects planned in the area near State Road 238 and I-69.

In 18 years just about everyone who’s anyone has sung at Verizon Wireless Music Center, except the fat lady.

The owner now says Central Indiana’s largest music venue is no longer for sale and for the foreseeable future, at no risk of closing.

“We’re very thrilled they’re in the community and that they’re going to continue to stay here,” said Kevin Kelly, Noblesville Economic Development.

The city didn’t offer to buy the venue and wasn’t asked to give the music center any financial incentives to stay. It’s owners decided to stay, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal, because no one offered the $40 million they were asking for its 203 acres.

“It obviously reverberated through the community,” said Kelly.

Commercial real estate broker Kurt Meyer says the asking price works out to around $200,000 an acre when there’s plenty of land nearby selling for around $60,000 an acre.

“They’ll achieve that price,” said Meyer. “It’s perhaps just a little ahead of the curve right now, but it’s a high growth area and it’ll be there.”

That growth, including office space and high end shopping at the nearby Saxony development, had some nearby homeowners hopeful as long as verizon moved out.

“Once they sold everything and the mall goes in, our property values would go up,” said one Verizon neighbor, “and who knows what will happen now.”

“Unfortunately we’ve watched the sign at our addition go from the 120s to the low 100s. Now it’s at the low 80s. So it’s concerning,” said another neighbor.

Traffic’s the main complaint from the neighbors, but it’s a price some are willing to pay.

“I’m glad it’s not for sale anymore,” said another Verizon neighbor. “Because I love to hear the concerts from sitting on our front porch or our neighbors back yard. It’s awesome. I love it.”

Verizon says concerts are scheduled through all of 2008.

As for the traffic troubles, the city of Noblesville was already rebuilding the interchange at I-69 and when it’s completed, it’ll allow six to eight lanes of cars to get to Verizon compared to two.

Just like I said and that’s a fact jack with a bitch smack.

sorry for the hostility.
