No sale for Verizon Wireless Music Center

Fishers - Central Indiana’s largest outdoor music venue is off the market.

Concerts are on indefinitely at the Verizon Wireless Music Center. While that’s good news for music fans, it’s not so great for businesses and even projects planned in the area near State Road 238 and I-69.

In 18 years just about everyone who’s anyone has sung at Verizon Wireless Music Center, except the fat lady.

The owner now says Central Indiana’s largest music venue is no longer for sale and for the foreseeable future, at no risk of closing.

“We’re very thrilled they’re in the community and that they’re going to continue to stay here,” said Kevin Kelly, Noblesville Economic Development.

The city didn’t offer to buy the venue and wasn’t asked to give the music center any financial incentives to stay. It’s owners decided to stay, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal, because no one offered the $40 million they were asking for its 203 acres.

“It obviously reverberated through the community,” said Kelly.

Commercial real estate broker Kurt Meyer says the asking price works out to around $200,000 an acre when there’s plenty of land nearby selling for around $60,000 an acre.

“They’ll achieve that price,” said Meyer. “It’s perhaps just a little ahead of the curve right now, but it’s a high growth area and it’ll be there.”

That growth, including office space and high end shopping at the nearby Saxony development, had some nearby homeowners hopeful as long as verizon moved out.

“Once they sold everything and the mall goes in, our property values would go up,” said one Verizon neighbor, “and who knows what will happen now.”

“Unfortunately we’ve watched the sign at our addition go from the 120s to the low 100s. Now it’s at the low 80s. So it’s concerning,” said another neighbor.

Traffic’s the main complaint from the neighbors, but it’s a price some are willing to pay.

“I’m glad it’s not for sale anymore,” said another Verizon neighbor. “Because I love to hear the concerts from sitting on our front porch or our neighbors back yard. It’s awesome. I love it.”

Verizon says concerts are scheduled through all of 2008.

As for the traffic troubles, the city of Noblesville was already rebuilding the interchange at I-69 and when it’s completed, it’ll allow six to eight lanes of cars to get to Verizon compared to two.

Just like I said and that’s a fact jack with a bitch smack.

sorry for the hostility.

::opens bag of popcorn::

::cracks a beer::

hey b, can i get in on that?

I spose i can spare a kernel or two! I wish these guys were on line right now. It’s been awhile since we had a good flame war in here.

I don’t really even get what the fight is about and I don’t want to re-read the thread, but I’m down.

::reclines, takes sandals off::

I sent this douche bag a pm last night saying, sorry my bad, just blowing off steam and he sent me on back telling me to “forget 'bout it” and obviously he wants to keep this up, I don’t know why. I’m not trying to argue with anyone. He’s just pissed that I debunked HIS rumor that HE posted. Gay.

i didn’t realize this was a fight.

i don’t think I was arguing about anything.

I told you to “forget 'bout it” because I can accept an apology and I didn’t really care anyways. I was just saying “Don’t worry about it buddy”. But why would you apologize and then come back and be a dick calling me a wise ass?? and now I’m a douche bag.

Its like saying, “With all due respect, you suck.”

p.s. wasn’t there already a thread about the Deer Creek thing? So it was my rumor you debunked? You didn’t debunk anything, everything I posted was true up to that date. It just happens that news broke about it a day or two later.

seats next to b, brett, and phg… puts on 3d specs

alright dude. I’m a douchbag, I’m a wise ass. You rock, you’re the best, you’re king and I suck.

Now can we just get back to being happy Deercreek’s not closing yet.

Where is the breeze?

It sure ain’t in Indiana!
