I’m surprised 12/30/93 isn’t faring so well. I really like that show. The mike’s song-> The horse is classic
Mike’s -> Horse is unbelievable. Then you get a PYITE & McGrupp in the Mike’s Groove?! psssh, come on now.
That Bowie aint too shabby either
In fact 12/30/93 Bowie > 12/29/97 Bowie
Forbins>Mockingbird > Fluffhead (not a segue)
I’ll give you the YEM > Slave and the Antelope > anything else from 12/30/93 set one.
I just feel like 12/30/93 delivers more musically than 12/29/97
(this of course, you know, is just my opinon)
Damn, I need to ponder this one for a while ![]()
this was an easy choice for me. 12/30/93 gets the nod.
It was an easy choice for me too, but only because I’ve never heard 12/30…which makes me voting seem kind of unfair. Oh well…Whoa POSSSSUMMMM!
Sounds like you need to expose yourself to more 1993 Phish
12/30. Perhaps a bit of a nostalgic pick, but it is one of those magical shows of yore. 12/29 is in no way a slouch at all, but Portland '93 is something else…
Devin, you need to give the 93 a listen. It is unbelievable.
^ I’ll definitely try to download it and give it a spin this weekend. It’s the only show in this whole bracketbuster I haven’t heard, but I guess my vote is cast already. I really do like the looks of that setlist though.
The Mike’s is one of the definitive Mike’s, and the biggest one they had thrown down up until that point. Trey is a geyser in this jam.
