RD3 West: 11/22/1997 Hampton VS 06/11/1994 Red Rocks

Tough call, obviously at this point. Went with Red Rocks for over all solidness.

This is a close one. I’m going with Hampton but mostly because I have a hankering for some funk at the moment.

I went with Red Rocks. Very difficult choice though, to be sure.

I’m riding Red Rocks til the wheels fall off

Rift > YEM FTW!

With 8-20-1993 out, and Denver still in. I’ll go with Hampton.

red rocks with the early lead

Very tough call. Both were right near the top of my original top 8 shows. Had to go with 11/22 in the long run because it has the most ambitious and perfect Halley’s ever played, whereas Red Rocks is an all around more solid show, it just doesn’t have any songs that really scream out “best ever” the way that Halleys does…not to mention the sick Black-Eyed Katy that would follow.

Hampton gets my immediate vote…

Mothership, take me away

YEM? :wtf:

YEM?!?!?! :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :

^ It’s good…probably my favorite '94 version, but it doesn’t hold a candle to 12/9/95 imo, or many '95 versions for that matter.

This tournament is rigged. Rigged I tell ya! Three '97 shows going to the top?! This is a catastrophe. :astonished:

Sounds okay to me

Hampton

yeah I know, fall 97 was such I shitty period in phish history. Where’s the 04 shows?

^ In my humble opinion, Fall '97 is very far from being the best period in Phish’s career. That “cow-funk” jamming, to me, is repetitive and much less creative than a lot of their work from earlier (and some later) time periods.

^some of what he said is true.

^^ YAp

Well Phunk me sideways!

fantastic remastered versions 11/22 and 12/6 found here…
