Semi-Finals vote!

Island Tour.

Hampton is about to get owned.

No contest. Although 4/3/98 is not even in my top 3 shows that I have seen in person.

Yeah…Island Tour.

Got 17 minutes???

4/3 is nowhere close to 11/22. you people are crazy.

fantastic remastered versions 11/22 and 12/6 found here…

I know, 4.3 is so far ahead it isn’t even close.

I’ll listen to 11/22/97 again just to give piper the benefit of the doubt, but my perception of most hampton shows has always been kind of lackluster from my pov. And that’s because I like my phish ragged and spur of the moment. I feel it leads to some crappy shows on one hand, but some of their best on the other. Hampton shows have a habit of being more controlled, from a phishy way of playing, and although the music overall may be more consistent, the jamming isn’t as adventuresome.

But that’s an overall opinion. I’ll listen to the remastered 11/22 to see if I can concur with what you say about it.

I’d put money up that both of the '97 shows are the best Hampton shows ever, quite easily too.

Island Tour, oh yeah! And it’s way ahead already! I would much rather see this one win than any of those '97 shows. How the fuck did we end up with three '97 shows in the Final Four of a best Phish show tournament? That is pretty terrible.

I don’t know…I can’t vote. I guess I picked 11/22 as my #1 pick, as the Halleys was one of the first Phish jams to completely blow my mind, but really the Roses from the Island tour is probably my favorite Phish improv ever. 11/22 has much thicker funk, especially that Tweezer > BEK, but they both have GREAT Mike’s Grooves, and SICK Antelopes (with a definite edge going to the Island tour for the Antelope)…and just great song selection all around.

It’s fucked how both of these shows open with Mikes Grooves too…I think that says a lot about the power of a Mikes opener.

I’m gonna sleep on this one and vote tomorrow.

Agreed. EASILY the best Hampton run. I’d take 11/21/97 over any other Hampton show, outside of 11/22/97.

Well…I voted, and as in real life, it looks as though my vote doesn’t really matter anyway. The mob has, for the most part, spoken. I’m thinking it really helps that 4/3 is officially released and 11/22 isn’t, but who am I to argue. This was a tough choice.

It isn’t helping Denver in the other poll,

^ Or is it?

4/3/98 deserves all the hype that it gets.
