Hi guys, Just wanted to put a word out there about my band. Been playing together for about a year now, were all from Green Mountain College. Were unoficially called “The Carl’s Corner Basement Band.” I hope to have some recordings up pretty soon, just of some practice sessions. Besides playing parties, we have begun to gig a little bit at Castleton College, and will be playing in Middlebury in Feb. The lineup is guitar, drums, bass, keys, and saxaphone. We do a handful of phish covers as well as a bunch of others, plus some orginals. Some of the tunes we do are First Tube, Ghost, Sultans of swing, Harry Hood (sometimes Sultans>Harry, works real well as a segue), 2001, footprints (the 4/4/ version, ala string cheese incident), they Hey Arnold theme song, Dear mr. Fantasy, Lovelight, Eyes of The World, Take Five, Breathe,…etc. Jazz, Funk, Rock, all that good stuff. I’ll try to post up dates of when and where we are playing for anyone in the VT area who might be curious. Audio up soon hopefully.
sounds cool, keep us posted.
Yeah i would love to hear some recordings of you guys. Sounds very cool.
Can’t wait to hear it.
So…I’ve got some audio that I want to put up, but I realize I have no idea how to get it onto the internet without starting a myspace page or something…can anyone offer any tips?
Why not create a myspace page for the band? They’re free.
You can also create a free account at mediafire.com and upload your recordings there to share as well.

Finally something the post. This is a vid of us doing the “hey arnold” theme song during our schools battle of the bands. Kind of a weird atmosphere as we were playing a 15 min. set to judges and didn’t have the normal crowd energy going, but a good time none the less. Hopefully 2 more vids to come. I’m curious to hear what yall think.
^Sounds groovin’ dude!
Which instrument do you play? Bass? Guitar?
Lemme know if you are playing live anywhere … hopefully not too too far from NJ?? Hee hee post your dates here anyways so the Pa knows!
Thanks! thats me on Guitar. Unfortunately we probably wont be anywhere near NJ, as we have only just started gigging out around VT. As of now, no real dates to speak of…possibly Castleton state college next Thursday though. We did win the battle of the bands and will be opening for the Easy Star All Stars on April 24th for the Green Mountain College spring concert. Were in the process of lining up some shows around VT, I’ll post them up once I know.
I dig. I very much dig.
Wow, you guys sound great. What kind of guitar is that you’re playing?
nice work dude.
Thanks! The guitar is custom, I built it with my dad about 10 years ago. The neck is made by Carvin, but we shaped the headstock. The neck is through-body, and the body is solid flame maple. Seymour Duncan pickups. At the time of this recording my neck pickup wasn’t working, so normally my tone is a little less nasal sounding.
That’s awesome man. I love the way it looks; the wood especially. Looks like a very comfortable guitar
cool guitar, you guys sound good!

Video of us doing Bodhisattva by Steely Dan. Not our smoothest version (some flubs by me
) but whose counting?
Very nice indeed. You have the Trey back to front head bob down pretty well. Love the hat and shades on your sax player. Classic.

lol, yeah the head bob kind of comes naturally, but I have heard that before. Our sax player is a character for sure.
Keep the feedback coming guys! positive or negative, I wanna hear it.
We’ll, not much playing this summer since we were all spread around new england, but we did a 2 nighter on Block Island in June which was a complete blast. Great crowd both nights, and lots of people. Were back in full swing now, been writing originals like crazy and adding a few new covers. We have some November and December dates in VT, I’ll post them once we add a few more and things solidify a bit. I hope some of you all can make it to check us out!
Sounds awesome man for real
