RIP Ronny Santo

A true Chicago legend and the best “Homer” in all of broadcasting. You will be missed dearly.

The real pisser about this is that now that he’s passed, this is when they will decide that he is a hall of famer…

Sad day for cubbie nation,…

I will miss listening to you on the radio for sure. You made the games so much fun to listen too.

And you’re right Chris,…now he’ll get the sympathy vote and enter the hall. Pretty crappy if you ask me.
But at least he was alive to see the Cubs retire his number.
And like he said that day…“This is my hall of fame”

You had a tough life Ronny. Diabetes, Cancer, both legs amputated,…

R.I.P. Ronny. Go join the big baseball game in the sky.

And although I hate to post this due to what happened after,…it’s still one of the most iconic pictures in baseball history. The black cat game:

Yeah, I love that clip because he’s staring at that cat and you can almost see him thinking “Oh, Shit! We’re Fucked.”

Damn, he was only 70 too. RIP!

What can I say. A very sad day for Cubbie Nation and my friends and family as well. Ronnie’s voice definitely made my day–even if we lost. He was often the “third wheel” in the car with my father and I as we listened to Cubs games. I’ll never forget ya #10! :frowning:
