Rolling Stone Review of Hartford (Night 1)

Author keeps harping on the tunes without many lyrics, calls ‘Cold Water’ an original, but overall a positive review.

nice little review.

It doesn’t sound like he’s harping on the lyrically-challenged tunes to me though. Just sounds like he’s making an observation and pointing out to non-phans that these guys have some awesome lyrics

I was impressed that he knew what the Party Time album was.

I love that the photo is 14 years old too!

Liked the review. Sounds like this guy knows his Phish. Which is always nice!

Pretty disappointed to read the people are still chucking glowsticks at the band.

WHY? Do you want to prove to your friends that you are capable of pissing off the band? Do you want the band to cut the show short because they don’t want to get pegged?

Are you trying to blind one of those guys so there is no more Phish?

Please just stop throwing anything at the band!!!

Saw this sad display in full effect at Toyota Park, and it made me sick then!

People, please stop throwing anything (except bras and panties!) at the band!!!

Great article. Isn’t that the author who wrote the Phish Book?

“And the crowd’s obvious favoritism [for the Celtics] may also have inspired Anastasio to plunk “Guyute,” a Celtic-inspired prog-rock suite, into the middle of set two.”

eh.

“The interlude also inspired lighting director Chris Kuroda’s most colorfully geometric 3-D effects (which were sadly missing from the band’s recent 3-D movie).”

 thank you!

yes.

I wonder if they will say anything about the glowsticks this tour. Seems like at least one of them have been hit every show. Maybe they should put some netting up in protest. Or, I suppose if it really bothered them, they could tell Mockingbird to stop selling them.

If they do, I hope they play country and western!

Great review. Great show. I was really impressed. I have been really impressed. Can’t wait to see what happens the rest of the weekend!

Exactly what I was thinking. They could do the suits and all.

For the record, Soul Survivor is the last song on Exile. Regardless, it sounds like the guy knows his Phish.

I don’t think they would tell anyone to stop selling them, or address the issue directly.
I’m thinking back to Allstate '03 maybe (I can’t remember), but Trey got pegged with a glowstick, and he basically cut the 2nd set short and walked off noticably pissed off.

I’m thinking it might come down to something like that.
