And what is the old school ending, exactly? I know most jams trail off or segue into something else, but I thought there was just one ending?

i guess that would be the sudden downshift from the frantic, maniacle piper-raging, into that quiet, serene G/A/Bm/C#m/D progression if that makes any sence. listen to the studio version from Farmhouse to see what i mean. it seems like they pretty much quit ending it that way during post hiatus.
