groups have been created for the first round of play. the names were chosen randomly (i literally pulled them out of a hat). this is how the chips fell. after you scope out your group please read the directions below…

  • All participants will be divided into groups of 3 or 4 players. Everyone will play two games (as black and white) with everyone in their group.
  • [color=red]Each player is responsible for challanging the opponents in their group to one match.
  • The challanger plays as white.
  • Any player that fails to challange their opponents will forfeit their match as white (their opponents will be awarded a win)
  • You get 1 point for every win,

no no… no worries. i just want to make sure the process is clear before people get underway. i’ll post the rest of the details soon…

edit: ok i added some info about scoring and the end of the round. we should be good to go. [color=green]try to have all games started by the end of teh weekend… if you have not recieved a challange from an opponent by sunday night let me know so we can get people in gear.

btw, in the original sign-up post i said that games that have “timed out” would be decided by the capture score… i meant to say the value of the pieces remaining on the board. the post above should clarify that.

if the scoring shit is confusing, just ignore it… challange your oppenents, beat their asses, and you’ll most likely move on to the next round.

ok. folks in group five… i’ve updated with funkyb’s gameknot account name.

tomorrow i’ll go through the groups and see who still needs to start games. i think most of the games are under way but i’ll make a list tomorrow.

ok i went through and checked up on everyones matches. below is a chart of challenges. the first letter indicates whether you have challenged an opponent… the second indicates your acceptance of a challenge. (ex. “Y-N” means that you have challenged a player but have not received a challenge from them; “N-Y” means that you accepted a challenge but have not initiated yours.)


note: unaccepted challanges are not shown on this chart

[color=green]i am unable to view unaccepted challanges. if you have sent out a challenge and received no response, please send me a pm. i will adjust the chart and send the individual a reminder. sending a challenge completes your responsibility for that match… if your opponent does not accept the challenge you will be given a win.

i will run through the accounts saturday morning. if you have not challenged an opponent (or sent me a pm stating that your challenge has gone unanswered) by that time you will forfeit the match. your opponent will be given a win.

OK. Sorry, a bit confused. I have ‘Y-N’. What do I need to do? Challenge someone? I challenged FB, but she has not responded yet…

i realize that can look a bit confusing… just look at the first letter. if you have all Y’s as your first letter… you’re set. [color=green](edit: will just worry about the N-Y in your second column it suggests you haven’t challanged golden… although you have accepted his)

this is an important part so i’ll just copy it down here too…

I beat Jawbone today! Game 1! Will is very much on the verge of kicking my ass, but there is still hope. I await your challenge Jawbone. It is too early with FunkyB to tell how that is going to go, but I know she’s got some tricks up her sleeve.
