[size=200][color=green]okp chess tournament: round one results[/size]

[color=green]the high score in each round will advance. group two split all of their games and, as a result, all players will advance (see rules for details).

at this point we have seven players moving on to round two. in order to create two even groups i am going to select one non-winner to move on to the next round. [color=red]all players with zero forfeits will qualify for the random drawing. the winner of the drawing will be announced with the “round two breakdown” in a couple days.

thanks to everyone for playing. i hope everyone had fun with it. if you’d like to play some more games with fellow okp’ers, refer to the sign up sheet for gameknot screen names, and challenge folks as you did for the tournament.

if you are confused as to why there is a win/loss/draw in your column, you can post your concern in this thread. (i took screen shots of all the unfinished games and i can post them by request.) really… don’t hesitate to post or pm a question/concern… i’m happy to oblige.

it’s ok though because our group was teh (traditional) AFC East of this tourney. and i came in thrid.

thanks fellas… glad to hear that everyone enjoyed the competition. everything seemed to go pretty smoothly - i didn’t even have to get out my ruler. just watch yourself in round two cause i wont hesitate to call in sister maria.

i’ll see if i can figure out the round two breakdown tonight… again it will all be done by random drawing so if you get stuck with the bigdude in your group you’ll have to blame lady luck.

as for the consolation drawing… i’m going to pm the winner to comfirm that they want to continue before i post the result.

[color=blue]btw, if you have any qualms about the tournament rules air your grievances now… if there is a particular rule that people overwhelmingly disagree with we can talk about making a change. just keep it cool my babies… cool.

It has been just over 5 weeks.

9 weeks puts us at about march 28th… figuring that it will take about a week to get mike on the horn and up to date on logistics, i suspect the cactus challenge will start the first week of april.
