Yeah, this jam out of “Drowned” is pretty good.
I don’t like it better than the “Piper” jam, though.
Just a hunch, but I felt The Drowned to close the first set really saved this show. Cos up until that point, this show was floundering. Very little energy and not much confidence being exuded by the band. Then this Drowned happened and the band comes back with arguably one of the best set they played PH.

I would argue that the Waves in set I of 6/20/04 is underappreciated. I think it’s the one jam of those two days that I rarely hear people talk about. I do recall Fone mentioning it once or twice, though.
Anyway, this Drowned was really damn good.
the WAVES jam is severely underappreciated, but between that and the Drowned, the show did lose direction.
I disagree. I think that the focus coming out of seven below into ghost (and then the MAJOR jam in ghost) was fantastic.
i just located my disc for the first set of this show, started looking for it after this post. I totally forgot how rocking this jam was, great way to close out the first set. Definitely a nice hint of what was to come in set II. The first time I heard the Twist i was in awe at the places IT WENT.(unintentional)
Good call on the jam though, definitely a lost nugget in that Saratoga run.
those spac shows were awesome! the energy for both nights were nuts, but what else can you ask for when hanging out in the park!
I agree that the Waves jam was really nice, but for me it was the Piper jam that stole those shows! Both nights were unbelievable, most fun post hiatus except for IT imo.
