The entire second set of Roxy 1993 is out there and fucking SCARY, actually. Especially the way Trey keeps quoting other Phish songs in the middle of different Phish songs.
the 11/30/97 wolfmans. a really crazy ass heavy metal jam that seems to go on forever. i love it.
i agree with greg. fall 94 tweezer. i love the alo twezzer. is that the bozeman one?
Slave: Cleveland, Fall 97
And there are plenty of straight forward Tweezer’s from Fall 94, Summer 95.
over the course of the trip we put on a lot of Phish (given to me by all of you guys ;)) and one of the sets started with a Stash that was just so dark. It was awesome though. Pretty sure it was a summer 2003 show.
definitely!
Possibly 2/26/03, 7/7/03, or 12/31/03. Those were the only post-hiatus Stash set openers. I’m guessing it was the 7/7 since you said Summer show, but that one isn’t very long and, though I haven’t heard it, I can’t imagine a short Stash getting very scary.
Both Wolfmans mentioned will should do the trick for you.
I’m listening to this now. CRAZY!
‘Sanity’ AND ‘Esther’ quotes???
Nice.
There were a few jams I dubbed as “scary” during the 10K GRAB show! At one point, Trey was screaming into the microphone, ala the “Slip Stitch and Pass” Mike’s Song post-jam! It was sweet, and was just another example of how good and enthusiastic Trey was on that night.
^ YES YES YES!!! That shit was nutz…everyone should really hear that GRAB show if no other one…
Many of the jams from Las Cruses 99 are also quite scary.
Yeah man. I’m trying to download it currently…I must get that show
definately not 12/31/03. I got it from Post but i don’t know which one because my brother just kind of put it in the CD player. I just remember it being from '03. i’ll find out one day, no big deal.

I’m listening to that now, it’s great. It also sounds kinda spacey because of the way you can hear the echo in the arena. I’ve been looking for the other stuff you guys recommended, but I was having trouble finding it on etree. Thanks for the suggestions though.
I don’t think anyone has mentioned this: Stash from Vegas, 11/13/97. They really went “out”!
Big Black Furry Creature From Mars from 12/29/95!!!
All these are scary, but this is pretty damn good.
They were setting up for the Bass Duel between Mike and his teacher Jim Stinett and they played it much longer then normal.
This shit is creepy. Great effects and loops.
Trey was out of his mind. Him and Mike were acting like beavis & butthead. Head banging, there were strobe lights going and they kept walking around in circles making it look really strange.
I remember Trey throwing his glass of water into the front couple of rows as well.
My favorite BBFCFM by FAR. That and what happened after BBFCFM will forever be burned into my brain.
By all means, listen to this show.
If anyone has a good copy of this show I would like to talk to you.
I need to get a better copy. I only have it on tape and it’s almost done from being played all the time.
Anyone heard the 9-12-99 “Ghost?”
BigB sent it to me awhile back. It starts fine, then goes off into a very dark place, appropriately I suppose. I think I posted a more detailed “review” of it in the Individual Song Discussion thread.
Fall '99 = good stuff.
yeah i love fall '99
Many 99/00 jams seem to go into really fucking dark, intense territory.
