even if you’re not, any tips on red rocks (never been there) as far as camping, the lot, etc…?? I heard there’s a SWEET campsite very close to the venue.

Chief Hosa is the campsite nearby. but not walking distance…
used to host a sick party every night there was a show. I don’t know if they are still doing that anymore the owner had some trouble with the city of denver.
several small lots are scattered around the venue. there is not one central lot. shakedown usually happens on the road between the lots or in the south lot…

Ratdog was ON!!! bobby’s band is NASTY good. and SCI was intense. Red Rocks is my new favorite place in the world. that place is perfect in every way.

I just saw Ratdog last night with Keller and Kang and Taj Majal…it was fvcking incredible. Bob certainly is on FIRE as is his band. The jams were wicked. Everybody sittin’ in with each other…

^ exactly!!! and i’ve seen Ratdog before and didn’t get blown away by any means. but this weekend, and this tour from what i heard from the Heads, they’re on fire for sure! and bobby’s voice sounds great! for their encore on sunday they did an acapella “attics of my life” that totally brought the place to its knees. beautiful.
SCI encore on saturday, they brought out bobby and did China Cat -> I Know You Rider…i almost puked it was so intense. i had never been to red rocks before, and it was truly a religious experience and i now realize why people say you will find/see God at Red Rocks.

Rat Dog has been on fire for a few years now.
I saw them a few times in 2004 and 2005, and they did not dissapoint even in the slightest.
I think all this Weir-hatred with the Llama SBDs has cast an ugly shadow over the man. Rat Dog is THE best post-Grateful Dead band.
