SCI's last shows--Do you care?

Right now SCI is in the midst of a four-show run at Red Rocks, their final shows for a while, maybe forever.

Anyway, it just reminds me of Phish and how I was feeling three years ago.

I’m not a huge fan at all, and I saw them already 5 times this summer, so I don’t mind a bit. I’ve had my fill.

I’m not a fan at all, so therefore I don’t care at all.

I just could never get into them for some reason… maybe I just didn’t give them a chance, but I’ve listened to quite a bit of them and don’t find it interesting.

of course i wish i was there… i wish i was at a lot of concerts… but i have seen them twice plus meeting nershi on the lot which was cool… and i def wouldnt mind seeing their last shows

but hey what can i do now

i like SCI from time to time.

they are a lot of fun for sure. But i don’t like them enough to be at their last show. A band’s last show should be attended by pure fans of that band and i’m just not that into them.

I didn’t have the funds to go straight from Missouri (Camp Zoe) to Denver and survive for a week, try to pay for gas, and buy a ticket, because I only had $50. Most the people I was with or had talked to were going to Red Rocks from Zoe, so I had to find a ride. I walked around in the crazy heat for 1.5 hours with my 40 lb. backpack, and then finally ran into some folks going to Asheville that had a spot so I could go home. They were cool.

I do wish I was at Red Rocks though. I bet it’s one hell of a time.

Zoe was a blast and I’m glad those were my last shows.

in the end, I think their music is just a bit too, for lack of a better word, Cheesy and “light” for me to really love them. Although I did have some really great times at their shows this summer, and they do pull off some pretty neat stuff jamming-wise when they’re in the zone.

theyre alright. nershi is good. but theyre new spacey trance thing is just not good

Some of my friends tried to get me into this band a few years ago. I just couldnt get into it. I didnt listen to them alot. My friend lent me an official live release, and I never got through it in one sitting.

To be honest, I probably did’nt give them a fair shot. By 1998 I felt like the whole “Jamband scene” was getting shoved down my throat. Sorta like “Well if you like this band, then you have to like this band too”.

if they sounded like they did on round the wheel, maybe i’d care

If it was 5-7 years ago, I would care.

Not so much in the past many years.

And my voting option would be, “Ive had my fill, and I have moved on already.”

I know I’m in the minority here on the OKP about SCI, but I like 'em. I really enjoyed the mellow groove they had. I wish I was at Red Rocks.

“they HAD” being the key words. :-X :-* ;D

This situation is much different than Phish because the band members have different ideas on which direction the music should go.

Travis wants to be electronica-spacey-jam and Billy wants to play only bluegrass.

For that reason alone I don’t see how they could come back, not that I really care that much.

Good riddence, never liked em

After seeing SCI for the last 10 years, I think it’s safe to say that I’ve had my fill. If they were coming anywhere close to me for the final run, I’d consider one last incident. At least it wouldn’t be the debacle that Coventry was…
I feel sorry for the fans, though. I know all too well what it feels like to lose something special…

Love them. I got to see them last weekend in Missouri and it was the first time I’ve gotten to see them since '02. Almost decided to go to Red Rocks but airfare was a bitch about it. So, I wish I was there.

I didn’t care until 10KLF this year…now I’m bummed that I’ll never see them again. Last year was good, but they were the best I’ve ever heard them by far at 10K. Just thinking about the joy and happiness that that Rollover > Naive Melody > Rollover brought is bringing a tear to my eye. I really wish I was there, but I’m glad I just got to see them again anyway.

^F yeah man!

I just downloaded that show last night. Listening right now.

nice.

the glowstick wars at this show were huge. I don’t dance often, but I was sweaty from throwing down so hard after this show. I really let loose. Flailing about everywhere. Not sure exactly how many doses I ate. Oooowwweee!!!
