SCI's last shows--Do you care?

I’m sad, but understand their decision based on their reasons. It takes balls to step up and agree that they’re growing into something out of their vision. I’ve had many great memories at Cheese shows since 96 and I would love to see their finale. Not at all affected like I was when I read Trey’s letter… :’(

String Cheese Incident are one of the bands who give jam bands a bad name, in my opinion. The songs themselves are trite and boring, full of “mystical” bullshit lyrics, while the jams and improvisations are either shitty trance with bluegrass elements or ball-less rock and roll with spacey elements. The first time I listened to a live show of their’s was during that weird time in '02/'03 when the band was being posited as “the next Phish.” Since Phish was once posited as “the next Grateful Dead” I should’ve smelled the bullshit three miles away, but I didn’t. String Cheese Incident live didn’t do anything for me because it was like all the various musical genres Phish dabbles in only with a softened, light feel. I actually bought Untying The Not and tried to convince myself that it didn’t suck, but then I realized Phish were back in action so why try to choke down secondhand vomit when I could drink the alcohol myself and then vomit??

Anyway, no, I don’t care.

yeah, Untying the Knot is a brutal album.

You saw String Cheese live, Greg?

^^You can’t try and convince yourself that Untying the Knot is good. You just made a bad choice on albums to buy.

Untying The Knot is my least favorite album out of the Cheese albums I have heard. For my money you can’t go wrong with Outside Inside.

Spooks said it first, and I’ll be about the 4th or 5th person to echo it. Give me some '99 and I’m fine, now I don’t care.

saw them a time or two when they came to the HOB. i had a few beers, and mingled with some friends. i was probably more interested in this girl i was talking to than the band because i just wasnt really feeling them at the time. meh. oh well no loss.

Man, I was sooo disappointed when I bought Untying the Knot. It really is a poor CD.

Well, it’s done. Here’s to a great band, great community, and great times.

I believe thier encore was:

Fearless, Good Times Around The Bend

Texas

I knew they’d play GTATB at the end. Texas was unexpected. My buddies are in traffic right now heading for the hoties and champange.

Oh well.

cheers again

::breaks out mushroom chocolate::

anyone want to split this?

texas is a great song to go out on. one of my fav of theirs.

if you want to get back to their roots and be blown away, listen to the first four tracks of this show. the sound is amazing! i played this first disc a ton back in college and it always got my pumped when i was hitting the road to catch a concert.

Eh,…I don’t know.

Red Rocks kicks ass, I’d like to be there.

SCI, they had a good run, time to move on.

I would like to be at Red Rocks though.
That place is magical.

Thank you, SCI for all the great times, parties and GROOVES!

oh, i like that song.

cheers

Who was drivin’ the vehicle? Can I see your license? What ya doin’ in our town??

What crawled up your butt as of late?

I wish I could have been at Red Rocks this weekend.
But I was too busy raging Gathering of the Vibes.
I love String Cheese and their shows are always a blast. I hit up all the Beacon shows in NYC so I had my final fill of them for awhile.
I’m pretty sure they’ll be back at some point, with our without Billy Nereshi.
But until then I hope they come back stronger than ever!

What, nobody responded to my trolling?? Am I losing my edge??

I tried to respond and had an extensive one, and then my power went out, and I didn’t feel like getting on to you all over again. I still have some things to say about that post. But not right now…
