Seen any good movies lately?

Except for the title and the last 40 minutes of the movie, I would say Waltz is the main character in Django.

And, yes, Jennifer Lawrence is damn hot.

:wtf:  :open_mouth:

Regardless of what is fact or fiction in this film, if you are a fan of Action Movies, you will enjoy this…

This movie was sooo damn good. Now I gotta read the book

second fave to Life Of Pi (that I’ve seen so far)

Gangster Squad is OK. Needs more story.

Sean Penn was very good though.

On Netflix, but bringing it up here for people who don’t have NF.

So damn real and impactful and somehow still really funny. If you’ve listened to lots of Birbiglia stand up, you’ll be familiar with most of the stories told throughout the movie, but it is really well made and definitely worth a watch for anyone looking for a feel-good (?) comedy.

Wow, just got into this show. Top notch entertainment.

Is Zero-Dark-Thirty a political propaganda movie? I haven’t seen it yet, but I am worried that I will be disappointed by it being “almost” true, but distorted by someone’s agenda. If it is completely fake, and based on a distorted agenda then I am all for it.

Let’s see…I’ve seen some say it’s a pro-Obama film since it was originally scheduled before election day but that ended up not happening. But the president isn’t even in the movie and most say it’s not really propaganda. Another thing is I think they get info from a torture scene so some whine that it’s “pro torture” and all that. Just seems like a lot of uber-partisan people whining about it and seeing what they want to see. I haven’t seen it so I guess I can’t say for sure. Just looks like an action movie based on real events to me…

I hear the hero in the movie is a woman, so I can see how that might upset conservatives. :stuck_out_tongue:

Really incredible movie. Can’t go wrong w Philip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Giamatti in the same movie. Highly recommended.

Saw ‘Life of Pi’ the other night and it was decent. Good acting and directing and the special effects were good. Just felt the story fell flat. But it did stimulate me to want to read the book because it seems like a better story than the film was able to capture.

My buddy read, or started to read, the book and despised it…I really don’t know what the story’s about at all, but I trust his judgment pretty good, might just check it out out of curiosity though

love the Zappa quote btw Bill

has anyone seen On The Road yet? I didn’t even know it was out yet, I’m about 3/4 of the way through the book so I’m about ready to check it out (bought the book a few years ago and am finally getting through it)

This explains where I got it from…

Pretty good flick, i enjoyed it.

was rather disappointed in this, maybe it’s not as stereotypical or boring to people not as into music but god this was just totally unoriginal to me…very slow, would like to hear someone else’s thoughts on it though

0 Dark 30

Frickin intense. Heart was pounding towards the end, even though I knew the outcome.

Loved the cell phone/suv scene.

Definitely worth seeing, but I think once may be enough.

awesome indie film. 4.5/5
