Seen any good movies lately?

balony: its possible that what she said in an interview might come off as “blasphemous” but one of the best aspects of the movie (and the books for that matter) are that you get almost an inside perspective of how it really is to live in that environment and how it got that way. certainly the movie doesn’t come off to me as all that provocative, at least in terms of her putting herself in harm’s way, but it does tell a very honest story of how things changed from a freer society to what we think of now.

grabs666: hold out hope… i don’t think its nearly done touring US theaters, and if it wins an Oscar Award you might see it get even more screens!

Speaking of FX, anyone watch Nip/Tuck last night? I was sad to learn it was the season finale.

Re-watched the portions of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix that I slept through the other night, and it was definitely smarter to sleep through it than watch it. Those cute kids who were so perfect in the first few movies are just terrible adult actors, especially Daniel Radcliffe.

Watched American Gangster over the weekend. I really liked it. It’s a tad long and not as fast paced as I thought it was going to be and you really have to pay attention to what’s going on. Overall though, really good movie that I’d recommend, but you really have to be in the mood for a movie.

saw Be Kind, Rewind last night. really odd and somewhat disjointed movie, but pretty good as well. Jack Black is great as always and Mos Def is a helluva good actor.

i’ll give it 7.9 out of 10. which i think would be in the B-/C+ range.

I freakin’ hated that movie. But I thought it had more to do with the overall production style and directing than it had to do with the actors. It was a very gay flick, but the book was more dark and serious. I thought they were way off.

Radcliffe was awesome in Extras

i gave up on the potter flicks after the second one…

Have any of you seen Control? It is a movie about the life of Ian Curtis from Joy Division. I saw it at our little Library theatre back in December, and I’m not sure if it’s out on video yet. If you get a chance though, check it out. The guy who plays Ian is really damn good, and he deserved a lot more credit for that role.

Finally saw Spiderman 3 this weekend and was disappointed. Could have been good, but I think they tried to do too much in one film. Although I liked the Sandman special effects, kind of thought the movie would have been better served without him.

^I’m with you on that assessment of Spidey 3.

Repeated viewings kinda helps … I would have liked the black suit to dominate Spider-Man for longer, myself. But once you accept how they dealt with it, it gets easier to enjoy.

My second viewing was much more fun.

I finally watched The Green Mile in it’s entirity. Great movie!!

Rented “The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters” So brilliant ;D About the world record score in Donkey Kong… yes the video game. Part of it was filmed at Funspot right here in NH, 30 miles away.

After the movie I drove to Funspot and played Donkey Kong for 2-3 hours on the very same machine in the movie. It was fun, can’t wait to go back. Yes I’m a nerd.

^ i miss the old-school arcades. i wish there was something like that around here. my favorite game was a Star Wars game where you sit inside of it like you’re the pilot of an X-Wing fighter. the graphics were simple green lines over a black background and it was fucking awesome.

I swear to God I’m a lucky dad … my kids love watching all these movies I’m so nostalgic over. They even like Atari & Nintendo & stuff. My oldest kid is getting into all the music I like. Thumbs up. Surf’s gnarly or something.

We’ve been watching the 70s Superman flicks … it won’t be long before the luxury of the excuse to revisit these old adventure films goes away.

… till the grandkids begin. Mwahahaha.

yep it’s at Funspot. Funspot has a “classic arcade museum” of over 250 games from like 1979 to 1987… all in working order. Then like another 200 games, bowling alley, bar, video golf etc… I lived here for years and when I found out it was like diving into a fabulous vulva… yes, just like that. I go there often enough. Last time there I played:
Donkey Kong
Joust
Joust 2
Dragon’s Lair
Stargate
Pacman
Ms. Pacman
Mario Brothers
Pengo

Its a video gamer’s mecca. You should move to NH. ;D

The “King of Kong” was excellent for anyone interested in the classic games. You and Hulk Banner should rent it.

Dragon’s Lair??? wow that brings back memories. i want to dive into this delicious vulva you speak of.

tonight’s feel-good movie will be: The Deer Hunter.

oh yeah Dragon’s Lair AND Space Ace… but Space Ace has a hard time working. I used to be able to beat Dragon’s Lair on one man when I was 11. ;D I couldn’t believe they had the game… brought back a lot of memories. Got good at space ace too but never beat it.

My quest now is to gather some proficiency at the classics like Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr.

People come from all over to visit Funspot. If you ever do atleast you know someone in the area. ;D

anyone play on game tap?

i play all the free games ,i suppose if i could get threw all the free games i might pay for a year and play all the GOLD games.

should check it out if you havent.you can even challege online.

post 350 yea

Yeah, that’s probably an all around better movie than Control, but if you are just interested in the Ian Curtis part of the story, Control is the way to go.
