Seen any good movies lately?

Dude GI Joe was an awesome movie. I mean it is what it is, but they actually put forth a good storyline and certainly opened it up for plenty more movies. I thought the dude that ended up being Cobra Commander was Dr. Mindbender the whole time. I’m sitting there at the theaters thinking I know what’s up and then I was thrown for a loop like you said.

Storm Shadow vs. Snake Eyes = Epic!

Just watched this for the first time in my life. Great movie, even better book. I must say, though, Jack Nicholson did an absolutely beautiful job with that role. The woman who played Nurse Ratched was great as well. Pretty heavy subject material at times, but it’s so great.

^ You are referring to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest?

I saw “Whip It” last night. Fantastic movie! I couldn’t get enough of this one and already want to watch it again.

I also found Ellen Page to be very charming and outright hot in this role. It must be a skater chick thing. And Juliette Lewis kicks butt!

this was a great movie in my opinion. i really enjoyed John Goodman being a arrogant rich dude.

^I have never heard of that one, but Zooey has some great legs!

This was my first time seeing Network and it was flipping fantastic! This movie was made as a satire of the news becoming an entertainment business in the 70s. In the scope of todays news, it is so dead on it is scary! The acting in this is fantastic, as is the direction and writing, particularly the writing. The script was fantastically witty! All in all, I loved this movie.

i watched [REC]2 last night. it’s about this swat team who gets called to a quarantined building. they go in and find out that the guy in charge of the mission is a catholic priest. the people in the building are infected with a virus. actually they are possessed by demons and they have to find the blood of the girl who was originally possessed to make an antidote. the whole thing is shot sort of blair witch style.

pretty good movie if you don’t mind subtitles.

Finally saw this one… amazing film.

^ Picture is broken. What movie was it?

I saw this just a little while ago:

My apartment has this fucked up TV service that is missing some channels from regular cable, but we get HBO for some reason, so I had the opportunity to watch this incredible movie. It’s about this woman with autism who leads the way for the humane treatment of farm animals, from how they are treated while on the farm right up until they are slaughtered. She makes sure they die peacefully. It really is an absolutely amazing movie, Claire Danes was so awesome in this role.

The first thing that came on once the new LED was hooked up was Turner Classic Movies playing…

Marie and I were transfixed by the size and clarity of the new TV. Bring on Super Mario Bros!

D’oh! It was On the Waterfront, with a very young Marlon Brando.

Just watch Temple Grandin the other night too and was pretty impressed as well. I didn’t even know it was Claire Danes, just never clicked in my brain.

Watched Synecdoche NY yesterday and thought it was one of the best I have seen in a while. Think it will get even better on second viewing because it is  and has alot going on.

Hurt Locker was really good too.

wow, just saw this for the first time. fantastic!

^ That’s a good one, pretty wild twists!

Just watched this… and… it was really fucking strange.

The Room

Yeah, I saw BtDKYD and loved it!

Except for Phil Hoffman’s pasty ass.

ill take hoffmans pasty ass for all the excessive nudity from marissa tomei

^I agree. And she’s like 40-something and still looks great. Anyway, a fantastic movie that just lets Hoffman carry most of it. A bit of a strange way to end the movie but it worked.

And nice go with On The Waterfront. Maybe it’s me but seeing the “Coulda been a contender” line doesn’t work on its own but in the context of the movie, it’s actually a REALLY touching part of the film. Even nowadays, I can see why that part became so famous. Brando nails it.

WTF? :wtf:
Just a weird-ass movie. Seemed like a great “Twilight Zone” episode for most of it, but then the ending just fell apart. I still don’t really understand it, but whatever. Found it to be a really good movie for most of it.
If someone wants to explain the ending to me, I’m all ears (and I guess a bit stupid as well) :shh: .

I really want to go and read the short story that this is based on, and I’m thinking that this would clear some things up…
