Seen any good movies lately?

I watched Holes today. It was great!

My buddy was supposed to play X-Ray in that movie, but didn’t make the part. That would have been sweet!

I saw it and liked it, thought the 3D was a good fit as it makes the movie a touch more ‘real’, I think. Hell, you pay 10 bucks a movie nowadays anyhow, whats $2 more you know? Music could have been better and the ending frame with the mushrooms growing etc was a trip!

Overall well done, not an A, but maybe a B or B+…

Depp was tweaked!

lost in translation is one of the movies i watch when i don’t have anything else to watch. there’s a few movies in my collection that are my default movies. office space, snatch, spun, death proof, ghost world and a couple of others. i never get tired of them.

I never get tired of the movie ~ Blow… Also Eddie and The Cruisers…

^ Eddie and The Cruisers!!! hahahaaaaaa… classic!

Can you escape the Dark Side? lol…

Eddie?

I LOVE Lost in Translation. I like how the city is as much a main character as…uh…the main characters. And it’s Bill Murray being Bill Murray. Can’t go wrong. Not to mention the Air song in one of the scenes…Sofia Coppola is a big Air fan and uses their music a lot.

And nice review by starshine for Alice in Wonderland. I’m a big fan of the books but I’m not sure if I’ll be seeing it. I mean…it’s not REALLY Alice in Wonderland…it’s some new sequel to it…shouldn’t he have at least altered the title a bit to make it seem that way? If it was about the original story, I’d probably be interested but I doubt I care for this new storyline. Leave the classics alone.

And I love how obvious it is that Eddie and the Cruisers are supposed to be Springsteen…even right down to the big black guy on the sax. That always gets me. For years I thought that the Dark Side was a Bruce song.

^John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, yeah baby!!!

^No wonder there’s so much love here. Eddie and the Cruisers is one of those critically panned movies that I can watch anytime. Like Galaxy Quest, the Karate Kid, or any of the Die Hard movies.

I have an Eddie and the Cruisers and Eddie and the Cruisers II single DVD, one movie on each side. And even though the second movie is really lame, the last scene in the movie where he “comes back to life” on stage gets me every time.

Speaking of the Karate Kid, Sunday morning it was being shown on Encore at 830 in the morning, and Marie and I just decided to stay in bed, suck face and coffee and watch the whole thing again. Most of the dialog and some of the acting were so over-the-top, but none of that really mattered. It’s just a great little story that draws you in and keeps you there.

Actually, three of the actors received recognition for their performances. Pat Morita was nominated for a best supporting oscar and golden globe for that movie, but lost to Haing Ngor in the Killing Fields both times. Elizabeth Shue won some best young supporting actress award for it, and “Johnny”, William Zabka, was nominated for supporting actor, but lost to the kid in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I thought he sucked in Doom and was better the following year in … another great “B” movie, The Goonies.

Watched Up In The Air the night before, and couldn’t get into it. I must have a pedestrian taste in movies.

Yeah, I saw some of the KK movies as well. When they get to Okinowa, Rlph always looks like he is going to cry, love it!..

Watched this the other night:

:astonished: :open_mouth:

This movie was unbelievably disturbing and beautiful.
Lee Daniels is a genius filmmaker. Monsters Ball was his calling card, this is a masterpiece.
Everybody should see this at least once.

Wow,…powerful performances (Mariah Carey is fantastic, I never thought I’d say that), honest and heart-wrenching script, and crazy good simple cinematography.
Just be prepared to get uncomfortable. This is not for the faint of heart.
A story about a side of life people never see or only have a vague, paper thin stereotype view of.

I really can’t say enough about this movie.
I haven’t seen The Hurt Locker yet, but man,…this was well deserving of a Best Picture Oscar.

Has anyone ever seen a movie called Four Rooms? My friend was watching it the other night, and man was it weird.

^ Yeah…I actually like that movie. It’s got some funny parts.

Just watched Public Enemies with Depp & Bale.

Wow, amazing film. Perfect climax as well.

I enjoyed it, too, as I saw it in theaters when it came out.

I thought some parts were kind of slow, but I loved the shoot 'em up scenes.

two thumbs up

somebody needs to punch that girls momma in the face :imp:

2012…

Meh, the graphics were cool but about 45 minutes too long…

You know it is stretched out when you have to grab the box and see how long the movie is…

Just watched this for the 4000x time. Gets better every time. Check it out…

^ I think I’ve watched that 4000 times too!
Such a great love story. I love all the ways Harold kills himself.
…and you can never go wrong with Cat Stevens in the soundtrack.

How 'bout it!
I’ve never been so angry at a character before,…
I mean, I knew she wasn’t real, but I wanted to beat the hell out of that women.

Tried to rent it, but it is a hot one at the Blockbuster…
