Seen any good movies lately?

Saw it. It’s not bad. But not as good as I thought it would be.

Don’t want to give anything away, so I won’t say too much about it.

Just thought it was a bit better than ‘meh’.

true romance is fantastic. and you’re right Bill, that scene is just great… hopper is badass. not to mention a hilarious cameo by brad pitt, as the stoner roommate - if i remember correctly he’s using a homemade pipe made out of a bear honey bottle

somebody’s got a hot date this weekend?!?!?

I saw him on Comedy Central a few years back before he got big. It was weird…he kind of just casually played the piano and then would pipe in with a joke. It was a unique and somewhat soothing way to do it but…well…the jokes weren’t that funny. Don’t know what else to say there…I didn’t laugh. But if you want some classic piano humor check out Victor Borga…dude was really funny and is somewhat underrated in terms of comedy. For him, it’s all about the timing and he kills it.

That was basically my sentiment. I enjoyed it and got a few good laughs but I felt like something simple was lacking that could have brought it to amazing.

Good movies that get released to the average theater at least.

I watched Synecdoche, New York the other day. It is the directorial debut of Charlie Kaufman (writer of Being John Malcovich and Adaptation). Stars the brilliant Philip Seymour Hoffman and a bounty of wonderful actresses. Great work by all. I wouldn’t recommend it for those who require their movies to be simple, straighforward, and reality based, but if you liked the others he has written, I think you will love this. Definitely a bit of a dense and complicated “thinker,” and almost requires a second watch to process and reprocess what is going on, but not highbrow or elite.

this movie was the funniest unintentionally funny movie ever. it was so bad that i couldn’t quit laughing throughout the whole movie. it was just one cliche right after another. it is worth watching strictly for the lulz.

i have event horizon on deck for tomorrow night. i’m excited to watch that one.

Iron Man 2, good movie, not a thinking movie, just good action and well played roles… Nice for a few drinks a snack and a movie!

did you watch this last week?

i remember well my experience with Event Horizon… could quite possibly be the worst movie i’ve ever paid to see in the theatre… Deep Impact might have it beat, but it’s a close race. i found both to be laugh out loud funny for how horrible they are

please let me know what you thought about it

Awesome flick. Great acting, and just an all around original take on the superhero movie. The only movie I can think to compare it to is Brick, if you guys have ever seen that. If you like Brick, you’ll probably like Kick Ass too.

Not nearly as good as Cube, but a nice take on a new direction of sorts. I have this on VHS somewhere… but it is on netflix instant queue which is nice.

Also, Where the Buffalo Roam is on the instant queue, and I am pretty sure that is only VHS as well at this time.

Watched this last night, as it turned out a fitting Memorial Day movie.

Liked it a lot. Good script, good performances. One of the better anti-war movies I’ve seen in a long time.

Anybody seen MacGruber yet??? Wondering whether or not it is worth 10 bucks…

ong bak 2

just picked this up from the kiosk at the mall. great fight scenes but not much of a story line. dubbed in english or subtitles.

i’ve been in a fairly strange mood this week.

I watched Employee of the Month out of pure boredom as it was on prior to the Hockey game starting and yeah, other than the Simpson hawtness it sucked…

i’ve been on a martial arts kick lately. just watched ip man last night. it’s the story of bruce lee’s teacher. pretty good movie if you don’t mind subtitles.

been wanting to get shutter island bluray. for those that have seen it, worth it?

^ Absolutely! Good movie.

i just watched shutter island on dvd. didn’t really like it too much. maybe i’m missing something? dude investigates island and nazi’s and missing patients and strange notes. arson.

got to say on bluray it would probably look pretty good. lots of good shots of oceans and cliffs. overall it just didn’t do it for me.
