shn conversion problems-help please!

i have a technical problem with my shorten files. i want to be able to convert my shn’s to wav’s, but i havent been able to. ive downloaded shntool, and programs of that nature (shn32 and all those things on etree) but my computer doesnt recognize any shn commands. i get an error. so, i dont know how to convert shn to wav. basically what i want to do is to be able to convert shn>wav>flac because i have a portable audio player that playsd flac files. so far, i havent been able to find a program that can do this automatically or have been able to convert shn>wav>flac. i think my comp. might not be able to recognize shn files, even though i can play them on winamp. can anyone help me with all this tech stuff??? i would greatly appreciate it. also, i didnt know where to post this, so i thought this was an appropriate spot. thanks in advance.

MKW Audio Conversion Tool. SHN>WAV
FLAC FrontEnd. WAV>FLAC (I think… I know it does FLAC>WAV… I think you can also go the other way… damn that FrontEnd is such a switch-hitter)

Hope that helps some!

ok, i try to run mkw and i get this message:

The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications. Choose close to terminate the application.

i dont know why i get this message. ive tried it before and i still dont know what to do. thanks for the help tho. does anyone know why i get this message?

ha! i got it working. for some reason, it wont work on my laptop, but im using my home computer and it works. thanks!

Can do flac, shn, and some other stuff. Never had problem, and much easier than mkw.

Easier than MKW?? Im not sure if I dont know what I am talking about, but I just drop the files in the MKW window and it is done automatically… Maybe I am missing something here…

Sorry, install is easier.
MKW install has a couple of pages of instructions, TLH is a basic, standard install.

I had a similar problem, and found out that I was missing “Autoexec.nt”; a file that allows installation of a DOS-based program. Try this link:
