Should I go see Wilco?

…I’m pretty picky when it comes to the music I listen to…I’ve heard these guys are good but I honestly have never heard a song. Who would you compare them to? Do they actually stretch things out and jam or are the songs enough to keep you interested?

They are playing here in Fargo on Thursday, and tickets are 28 bucks. And there’s always a good chance a band will mail it in playing to such a small, middle-of-nowhere market.

I think I can afford it, but I don’t want to spend that much and be completely uninterested in the show.

They are really good at what they do, but they are not exactly my cup of tea.

Check out some of their shit on youtube. Never seen them myself, but if you likes, you should go. Remember grasshopper, there is more to music than just jams :slight_smile:

Now, Wilco ain’t Phish by ANY stretch of the imagination, but they could also bring it.
They have been playing alot of their older stuff lately as well.

If you can afford it, go. I don’t think you’ll be sorry.
Throw back a few beers and enjoy the night.

great band, great music… but no not ‘jam band’

chech em out, saw em once and was thoroughly impressed with musicianship and how tight they were… also was a fantastic sounding show

I’ll probably check out a few youtubes, like ladyphish said, and decide off that. I also might just walk downtown around 10 and see if I can get in for free, but its at the Civic Center, and I bet they’ll be nazis.

about a month ago, a friend here at work burned me copies of “yankee hotel foxtrot” and “sky blue sky”. i listened to both albums a couple of times and although i’m extremely open-minded when it comes to music, i didn’t like either album. i thought it was too mellow and i didn’t think tweedy is as good of a songwriter as most people make him out to be. if i was going to see them live, i would bring a pillow and a blanket. but that’s just me.

^Extremely well said…where i used to work people loved them. I Really dislike their tunes and Tweedy.

Personal tastes, though.
