Damn, I need to get a ticket to the Atlanta show…the only thing that’s been holding me back really is watching videos of them in their later years, looks incredibly boring and sad.
saw Beach House on wednesday night and Viet Cong on thursday night. beach house was better than i thought they would be (not a fan of their albums) so that was pleasant surprise. Viet Cong was loud and awesome. been having diarrhea today. vibrations probably rattled loose some meat that’s been rotting in my colon for years.
Anyway, I have a techno act in Odesza in November and I just got tickets for the 30th and 31st of December to see Greensky Bluegrass. Saw them for NYE last year as well. Seems like a fine way to end the year.
Mike Gordon is coming to Dallas on January 24. He’s playing at that Granada Theater that I like so much. Mike is #4 on my Phish list, but in combination with the Granada Theater it might be a must see show.
Does that mean #4 for Phish solo projects? I would be surprised to hear that, as Mike’s band is the bomb diggity. Maybe after you go, he’ll move up a few spots.
Well…I just got a Werks ticket so I’m seeing them again at the end of the month. Have the long-postponed Who show in February…it was supposed to be in October 2015 and I got the tix for it in October 2014…long wait for that one. Also have IRON MAIDEN in April…can’t wait.
Also debating hitting one of those Black Sabbath shows…maybe the outdoor one in the summer. Was never huge on them but it’s the last tour and those songs are badass.
I could be persuaded to see Black Sabbath. I picked up the ‘new’ studio album a few months ago and have been spinning Black Sabbath regularly ever since. I just listened to the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album like 5 times.
I’m only goin to my own shows right now, pfft. Playing in the bar tonight.
Headed to MGB on 1/31 at the Fillmore and DSO on either 4/7 or 4/9 in Berkeley (at the newly renovated UC theater, which is a 10 minute walk from my house!)
DSO - 2/28 (the things we do for girls)
Iron Maiden - 4/5
Parquet Courts - 4/18
WSP - 5/1
NMF - 6/2-5 (Mac DeMarco & Randy Newman headlining)
Phish - 6/24-26, 7/8-9
also, also this was technically last weekend, i saw Mark McGuire and Steve Hauschildt play in somebody’s living room here in my town and it was one of the single best performances of music i’ve ever seen. amazing.
