Simpsons

Any thoughts on the episode of The Simpsons w/ the four horsemen? Or in any episodes in general?

Some of my favorites:

Beyond Blunderdome

  • “All those in favor, say die” (that whole scene from the “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” spoof is hilarious)

The Old Man and the Key

  • When the Simpsons go to Bronson, MO, instead of Branson (where Grandpa Simpson went to find a “hoochie” he met at the Retirement Castle), they are in a town full of Charles Bronson-like characters. Great stuff:

“Hey ma, how bout a cookie…”
“…No dice…”
“…This ain’t ova…”

Like I said, great stuff

And, of course, the episode with the Phish.
“Run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, (you know how the rest goes)”

Do you mean phish or the four horsemen of the apocolypse? they were both good but the biblical episode was probably funnier, but it lacked phish. I like the fact that they were playing antelope.

Great episode, it is in my top 3 of all time for sure. Homer the pothead, toke as needed caution objects may appear more edible than they actually are. Also contains one of my favorite quotes of all time “Could Jesus microwave a burrito so hot that he himself could not eat it?” Homer asks Ned this. Another great quote is from Otto “Remember when I dropped my keys and you thought the phone was ringing”. Damn the Simpsons are awesome, i wonder when the new season starts?

That was probably one of the last good episodes. now adays the new simpsons suck!! homer just gets stupider and stupider. before he was stupid with good intentions, but now he’s just plain retarded. it makes me sad. THe episodes dont really have points anymore. I used to laugh out loud watching the show all the time, now there are very few funny jokes.
However, back to the the Phish episode, it was fuckin hilarious, especially when Dr. Hibbart gives Homer a choice of bong! And of course Run Like an Antelope is one of my favorite songs, so that kicked ass!!!

The decline of Simpsons has been so steady and gradual that it’s hard to peg a point where it started to suck. I can’t bring myself to watch the newer episodes anymore. I honestly feel that either Southpark or Family Guy have taken the Simpsons’ crown.
The Phish episode was OK, but they naturally HAD to have the main element of the plot be about drugs.

Well the last season starts in a few days here, so enjoy those new Simpsons while you still can. Family Guy does take the cake nowadays now.

LAST SEASON… SAY IT AIN’T SO!!!

Unfortunatly, the Simpsons will be embaressing themselves for a couple of more seasons. They also just announced a feature-length. I lost faith a little while back, but I still watch tirelessly! It will always be my favorite show no matter how bad it gets. The Phish episode isn’t bad, but the end just fizzles.

Top 5 Simpsons Episodes:
22 Short Films about Springfield: Many vignettes with secondary charecters,Pulp Fiction parody
Lisa the Vegitarian: Flanders Reunion, Ralph:“Sleep? Oh boy, thats when I get to be a viking!”
HOMR: Crayon in Homer’s Brain, awesome Davey and Goliath parody
Marge vs. the Monerail: obviously! I miss Phil Hartman
Itchy and Scratchy Land: one big Disney parody. “Were out of Bort licence plates!”

Anybody else want to post their top 5?

Well the movie idea is it, It’s been my understanding for some time now that the plan was to make a movie when they ran out of show ideas, and to release that movie the summer following the series premier. So by no means am I certain that this is the last season, but according to what the writers said years ago, it is.

top 5 simpsons:

  1. lemon of troy
  2. last exit to springfield
  3. homer’s triple bypass
  4. 22 short films
  5. homer’s barbershop quartet

the simpsons started sucking the moment they started producing futurama. they started putting all their funny stuff into that show, and for some baffling reason, took it off the air, even though it was the funniest show on television.

Word up. Futurama was the shit.
I think Simpsons rocked so hard because Conan O’ Brien was on board for a few seasons. That man is funniness personified.

Futurama is the best one on these days becasue
The Family guy is also starting to lose its mojo. The show was the best before it was cancelled the first time, when they were sued because Peter was based on a real guy and that guy wasnt cool about it at first. Then the jokes just less controversal and more out there. but hey, thats just my 2 cents

futurama is great because, unlike the simpsons, there’s no character to balance out the insanity. every single character has very obvious flaws, and are totally out of their minds or stupid, in some cases both. in the simpsons, there is always a character present to balance out the stupidity, usually lisa or marge.

i think family guy is only getting better. i’m really glad they’ve stopped the whole “stewy taking over the world” shtick, that was getting old quick.

I just got thru watching the simpsons, when ned moves to humbledon, and i thought it was very funny. I’ve been watching the simpsons since they first started, and yeah, there was a lull in the middle, around season 8, but i think the last couple seasons have been good.

Top 5

1:Beer baron
2: Stonecutter’s
3: Hubba-palooza
4: when Skinner and Krabaple have an affair: “I saw them in the closet making babies, and one of the babies looked at me”
5: any episde w/ sideshow bob being foiled by bart.

Banner: Are you the beer baron?

Flanders: Well sir, if you’re talking about root-beer, I plead guilt-diddly-ilty as char-didly-arged.

Banner: He’s not the beer baron, but he sounds drunk, take him in.

“you forgot one thing…i filled the balls with a funnel.”

I’ve been watching the early seasons on DVD a lot lately… Top 5? Sure.

  1. Boyscouts in the Hood – Squishie bender -> Rafting trip. “God speed little doodle.” - Best Flander’s quote EVER.
  2. Homer Defined – Nuclear plant meltdown. “Which button did you hit? MOE!”
  3. Homer Goes to College – “And then we roll him up in a blanket and toss him off a cliff! Hehehe”
  4. One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Bluefish – “Poison, poison, poison, Tasty Fish!”
  5. Three Men and a Comic Book – Truly just great writing in this episode.

Mr. Sparkle - “There’s your answer fishbulb”

BEST episode EVER:

Trillion Dollar Bill … when Homer puts the one FBI agents hand on the other one’s butt before running away… Homer eating donkey meat in Cuba “es Carne de Boro” … And of course Fidel saying “What trillion dollar bill?”…God that’s funny.

After Homer is scared off by the Scarecrow and says" Regroup at Red Lobster"(which is classic) that episode loses oomph!

Junior Camper’s is my favorite!

" I’m the captain, I’m Bart’s Dad"!
