So I...

no.
a

ok.

sits down

ha!
really, 'o3 was the only “full” PH year.
'o4 had 17 shows total, which is not even a full summer tour.
although 'o3 had some good highlights and a nice run (starlake>IT) i wouldnt call it
a solid year.
a

I would compare '03, musically speaking, to 1996. 1996 had some definite highlights, especially on the fall tour, but it was just your average-great year for Phish. It doesn’t stack up to the heavyweight years such as 1993-95 or 1997.

'96 was a great year.
they were tight as hell, too.
which is something that 'o3 wasnt.
a

Blasphemy!

Honestly I would say that '03 is one of my favorite years. I love the jamming style, the Round Room album, and many of the shows.

i agree with the round room thing. but in a way maybe round room kindve sums up 03 from what im hearing. its got some standout songs (pebbles and marbles one of my favorite studio takes ever by any band) but also just some songs that make me scratch my head…mainly all the slow ones…friday, thunderhead, round room. its just spotty

ok just looked at the round room thread and realized that some of you like it. i just dont like the melody very much. but thats me

FUCK YOU.

WHEN?

pebbles and marbles = down with disease.
a

down with disease=teh_sickness

therefore:

pebbles and marbles=teh_sickness

basic substitution property

pebbles and marbles=another trey song dumped on phish
down with disease=played way too much during PH
both have the same jam…
both deflate me when i hear either Mike’s bass grumbling
or Page and Trey struggle to get through the composed part (which is
part of the pebbles/spices/discern “lets take complicated song structures and
see if they might work as phish songs, too”).
a

OK, which one of you bastard pissed in Augustus’ cheerios???

jk a

just saying…
i never really went crazy for those tunes.
a

the 6.24.04 DWD was pretty damn tight.

Just thought I’d add that in.

It was played too much post-hiatus, though.

It was only appropriate that I got a “DWD” at my first and last Phish shows, both at Deer Creek. I was in the lawn, way back, and during “MMGAMOIO” I had to piss. While I was in line we heard the spacey intro and, dick in hand, I said “is this ‘Disease?’” Sure enough, it was, and I missed the “riff.” I am still pissed about it.

I heard the “Gin” on LPR the other day…I thought it was a decent version. But I have not heard anything else from that show. Sowwy.

I thought it was obvious I felt the same, since I paid for the show. I actually dig the hell out of the Hampton show. I dunno. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if I was there in person I’d have been pissed off at the mostly mellow, ballad heavy second set. But on CD I think it works. Kind of like a send off for one of their favorite venues. I adore the Seven Below > Stash -> NICU segment of the second set, FWIW.
