So I...

Any particularly reason you chose those shows? Just curious.

not a huge PH fan, but 2-16 and 7-30 are good choices.
a

funny…don’t really love the other 3, but I love 2/20 and 2/26!

2/16/03 because of the first set Bowie -> Catapult -> Bowie opener, Round Room jam, and the second set Disease -> Seven Below -> Disease and Piper -> Makisupa.

2/20 because of the first set Simple and Gotta Jibboo, as well as the second set Tweezer and Seven Below.

2/26 because of basically all of it.

7/30 because of the first set SASS and Chalkdust Torture, as well as the second set Twist.

8/9 because of the first set, as well as the second set Seven Below which I liked when I heard it on LivePhishRadio.

Let me know if you hear a Smoke on the water jam during the 2-20-03 Tweezer. i know i’m not crazy!

I need to get more winter '03 Phish. There were parts of that tour that were better than the subsequent summer tour!

Agreed. I think the summer tour was more like a ‘usual’ Phish tour in that almost all of the stellar jams were in the second set. The Winter tour may not have been that long, and there may have been some dud shows (specifically, 2/18 and 2/25), but I think it’s underrated.

Out of the shows you bought, 02/16 is probably my favorite.

And out of all the tours I saw shows on, Winter '03 is easily the best musically for me. (including what I have only heard on disc)

i have heard a very limmited amount of PH phish save IT and random others. but from what i gather is it a fair statement to say that 03 overall was a solid year?

no.
a

ok.

sits down

ha!
really, 'o3 was the only “full” PH year.
'o4 had 17 shows total, which is not even a full summer tour.
although 'o3 had some good highlights and a nice run (starlake>IT) i wouldnt call it
a solid year.
a

I would compare '03, musically speaking, to 1996. 1996 had some definite highlights, especially on the fall tour, but it was just your average-great year for Phish. It doesn’t stack up to the heavyweight years such as 1993-95 or 1997.

'96 was a great year.
they were tight as hell, too.
which is something that 'o3 wasnt.
a

Blasphemy!

Honestly I would say that '03 is one of my favorite years. I love the jamming style, the Round Room album, and many of the shows.

i agree with the round room thing. but in a way maybe round room kindve sums up 03 from what im hearing. its got some standout songs (pebbles and marbles one of my favorite studio takes ever by any band) but also just some songs that make me scratch my head…mainly all the slow ones…friday, thunderhead, round room. its just spotty

ok just looked at the round room thread and realized that some of you like it. i just dont like the melody very much. but thats me

FUCK YOU.

WHEN?
