Gotta love a match-up between a possum and an ugly pig!
I have often found myself skipping Guyute lately. Not so with possum.
Feel a bit like a traitor here for voting for Possum. I believe Guyute to be a better piece of music, but oh, those Possums really make me smile.
Guyute got way overplayed from late 98 to the end. I’m basing this on my feelingd toward Guyute from 94 to 98. And the Pig wins!
Possum = most overplayed Phish song?
I’ve been burned out on Possum for years.
And it’s pretty darned ordinary and boring compared to Guyute.
Guyute = last epic Phish composition with any real ambitious instrumental craftsmanship.
^word
yes, I definitely agree it was the last tune that got complete composition and craftsmanship
this one is really easy for me. i DO NOT like guyute. i’ve tried and tried, but i just don’t care for the song. possum is a straight forward, rockin’, blues riff that kicks ass. sure it was played a lot, but that don’t mean it’s any less bad ass.
True but I still enjoy Possum more. Its not downright silly but its close. I just think its a fun song.
This is the first one that I have hesitated and not made a decision immediately on. I’m still not sure…
gotta help show guyute some love…
totally epic composition.
possum was great for getting secret language in, but that really went away by the late 90s.
before glowstick wars i saw some crazy glowstick shit go down during Guyute in 96… gotta love that.
Okay, I think I have it…I’m going with…nope…damn…I’ll be back
No hesitation here.
I never listen to Guyute. Ever.
Yeah, not a huge fan of Guyute. Although it is an extemely tight composition, it just got played way too much. This is all a matter of my experiences, but from '96 on, I got 5 Guyutes and 2 Possums. So yeah, playing Possum.
As Possum has no whistling, I must vote for it.
Also, because it rules.
Also, because it has no whistling.
That explains so much.
Guyute melts your face!!
guyute annoys and bores my face
alright, Guyute it is, though it doesn’t seem like it has much of a chance at this point.
Which is depressing, considering “Guyute” debuted in 1994. Which means that Phish didn’t write any real “ambitious instrumental” compositions in the last 10 years of their existence.
