SOUTHWEST Region - Round 2 (#2 Gin v #7 Moma)

Vote!

GIN!

I absolutely love Moma, but there are just too many great Gin’s. If Phish never played live and we had to decide based solely on their studio output, Moma would definately win this battle for me. It’s gonna take quite a contender to compete with Gin IMO and Moma Dance just doesn’t quite have what it take’s in a Live show. Any show that Phish played both of these songs I garuntee the Gin completely eclipsed the Moma Dance, so that’s why I voted the way I did.

this sucks…

maybe if MOMA had been around for twice as long as the 7 or 8 that it was (including hiatus years) this coulda been different.

but i’m big on growth, and its pretty impossible that there wasn’t extreme growth in the life of Bathtub Gin.

so its unfair, really, but make mine a Hendrick’s and tonic.

Gin.

And I prefer the studio Gin over the studio Moma. Something about hearing a bottle open and pour some drink into a glass while Mike is repeating Bathtub Gin. It does it for me.

i’d love to take a bath

Gin

I’m in the minority taking Moma. Also, am I the only one on the planet that liked Moma better when it was BEK? Any way you slice it, it’s still great, I just think it went more places when it was still in its development stage ::slight_smile:

^ Most here on the boeard including me agree BEK ruled MOMA, But that Moma from Worcester 03 is mezmorizing!

I voted Gin, but I had to really think a bout it. Both Great songs, but the “Leo goes off” intro, and the different jams that have come out of Gin should put it in the Sweet sixteen

In the first round I voted for Bouncing over MOMA to voice my dislike for the change from BEK to MOMA. To me MOMA just doesn’t hold a candle to BEK, and while this is probably a dumb justification on my part, who cares??? So of course I went with Gin this time.

weird. Both of these songs have really cool, really catchy guitar leads that Trey sings and plays at the same time. I pick Gin by a nose.

I pick my nose by Gin.

Er I mean, I pick GIN.

^that’s exactly why it frightens me.

I don’t dislike either song, but neither have ever been my favorite. So I went for the underdog and picked Moma.

Bathtub Gin!
