Strangest Looking Setlist?

I know there’s the concept of “that setlist looks awesome on paper!”

Sometimes it holds true, other times it doesn’t.

Are there any opinions on shows that just have an odd, strange-looking setlist? Whether it be song placements, song selections, etc.

And by strange-looking I don’t mean horrible or badly performed. Don’t even take into account the music, just what you see on paper.

I’ve always liked the random parts of Fluffhead tossed in the middle of jams/segues from the 80s.

Back then, sure it made sense… but nowadays… shocking!

U.S. Bank Arena, Cincinnati, OH

Set I: The Sloth, Dogs Stole Things, Piper -> Weekapaug Groove, Dirt, Scent of a Mule, Walls of the Cave, Mountains in the Mist, Sample In a Jar
Set II: Tube > Bathtub Gin, Friday -> David Bowie, Bug
Encore: Suzie Greenberg
Show Notes: For the first known time, Weekapaug was played without Mike's Song (possibly to bring closure to the Mike's Song a night earlier). Gin included a down-tempo DEG tease.

This one always shocks me. Just weird to see a weekapaug thrown in there outside of the groove itself. I’ve heard Mike’s a number of times without hydrogen or weekapaug, but never weekapaug.

The second set by itself looks kind of odd, too. A 5 song-er w/ both “Friday” and “Bug.”

I like the prepositional-phrase-titled songs all beside each other.

That’s a great idea.

Specifically set two on this one…

This was my best tour. Three nigts before they played a full Gamehenge at Great Woods (I was there too)!! This was a GREAT show in a fucking tent. Since The Dead were only playing two hours away, all the cheeseballs were not at Phish. Great scene of REAL phans. We all started removing the portable plastic chairs by passing them back. We had an assembly line moving the chairs. By the end of the first set there were no more chairs (just two piles in the back of the tent). Front row tipping HARD!!! Those were the days!!!

UMMMMMMMMMMMMM helloooooooooo!!!
