STRING CHEESE FALL TOUR!!

They haven’t played Oklahoma in 4 years, and they live in the State next to Oklahoma…fuck String Cheese. Fuck them!!!

even though i’m moving away and it wont affect me too much now, i’m really happy to see Pompano Beach Ampitheatre make a comeback.

SCI
Gregg Allman & Friends
Gov’t Mule
Derek Trucks Band

all have shows there in the next few months. I ride my bike to the park that surrounds it and read a lot of times, and of course listen to concerts for free!

do you want to split a mushroom chocolate with my freind and me on the way to the show Thom? :sunglasses: ;D

but seriously, no not really all that seriously

I might ponder going to see Cheese if they came to Minneapolis (4 hours away from me), but thats about it. I would mainly be interested in seeing them in an indoor venue, and not at a festival. I just wish they would revert back to being more of a bluegrass/rock/jam band than the psychedelic band that they’ve become.

I have two friends who are driving down to Chicago this weekend for the Aragon Ballroom shows. They are pretty pumped for that.

^ me too, i’ve got a handful of friends making the trip to chicago this weekend…i’d like to be doing that too, but money is at a premium right now.

thing is, i only became a cheese fan about 4 years ago or so…about right when they started to really get trance/psychedelics into their sound. so, that’s the cheese i’ve known and seen countless times. i like it. but that’s just me.

Hey Guys! I know a bunch of you are going to this weekend’s SCI shows here in Chicago. Anyone want to meet up on Saturday? There are a couple of great aftershows directly across the street at The Kinetic Playground and these might be a great place to meet up and get shwilly and silly.

Who’s in Chicago this weekend? Want to meet up?

those shows were great though…that shakedown to start the second set with the PA music fading out as the band stepped in. then the madison show on 'Ween kicked me in the teeth…in the moment, my favorite cheese show.

^ wish i was there grabs…have fun brotha!!!

I am truly saddened to miss the Cheese this time around as the 10KLF was my first and it went as good as I wanted… I was tripping so hard during the second set, that the front row was a target, and we made it…

Good times.

what a rediculous show last night, thats really all i can say…

^Hilites please…??? PLEASE!!!

Shit! I went to the Friday night show and then to Kinetic after to see Groovatron Grabs. It was a great night. SCI was really good.
I would have met up with you Grabs.
Let me know when you have another show.

09/29/06 Aragon Ballroom, Chicago, IL

Set I: Lonesome Fiddle Blues, High On A Mountain Top, Sometimes A River, Mouna Bowa, Miss Brown’s Teahouse> The Bridge> Miss Brown’s Teahouse, Shine

Set II: Howard, Ring of Fire> Daryl, Resume Man, Eye Know Why, Doin’ My Time, Way Back Home> Drums> Jam> On The Road

Encore: Elvis’ Wild Ride(1), Round The Wheel

1 Billy and Travis only

I had a great time. Great show and a great crowd. It didn’t even sell out so there was still room to move and dance. Great bluegrass vibe to the show, not as spacey as 10LKS.
Ring of Fire in the 2nd set was very nice as I remember. The 1st set kicked of very nice as well. They definitly came out swinging for both sets and it set the tone for the show.

Went across the street after the show to The Kinetic Playground and saw a little bit of the band Grooveatron. The place filled up, it seemed alot of people didn’t want to go home. Groovatron played good. Alot of people likeing them to.

Go see SCI if you can. I think they are playing pretty good right now.

^Glad to hear it was more bluegrassy.

^ yeah, that’s what my buddy said. said one night was more trance-SCI and the other had more of a straight-forward bluegrass touch. which is how the red rocks shows i saw this summer were, one night of each cheese era so-to-speak.

he also went to Groovatron on the first night (on your recommendation, thanks gamecat!!) and loved those guys, said they threw down hard.

wish i could go to NYE in san fran, too spendy of a trip… but chicago for umph is on!

^ You headin to UMPH? Yo weasel… he he he…

I just saw yesterday that they posted some Atlanta dates. About a 6-7 hour drive, but at least it gives me a chance to see some cheese.

i so bummed im missing the atl shows. they are right after thanksgiving day…and im outta town. damn…second year in a row illl miss them

The 2 nights in Asheville this weekend were the shit! It was soooo good to see all my southern Cheese kids again. Especially in such a great town. The first night was good, but I have seen better. It was a little more Trance-ish. Highlight- Howard and Freedom Jazz Dance>Black Clouds. I never thought I would get to hear them bust out Freedom Jazz Dance. I’m sooo glad they did. The second night was phenomonal. Very bluegrassy. Lots of good covers. GREAT show. Highlight- Miss Brown’s Teahouse>The Chameleon>Miss Brown’s Teahouse. Ramble On. FUCK YEAH! Also the drum thing at the beginning of 2nd set. WOOOHOOO!

Knoxville is tomorrow. I can’t wait for some Cheese in my hometown again. The TN Theatre is such a beautiful venue. I’ll be rockin’ the long arms second set. And… I just found out last night about the two nights at the Fox. I WILL be there, no matter what I have to do. Gotta find a job!!! Last year at the Fox was epic.

anyone else goin to cheese in Wallingford, CT on sat??? i’ll be there w/ a few firends! would love to see some OKP’ers!

OK so Knoxville was surprisingly wayyy better than the first night in Asheville. The second night beats Knox by just a little in my opinion. They played for free on Tuesday in a little bitty radio station to maybe 100 folks including myself. They were right friggin’ there in front of us. It was funny 'cause it was at noon and they were all really tired, Especially Travis. They played lot’s of bluegrass. It was real nice. I talked to Jason Hann afterwards.

That night was simply amazing. They said, “this is one of the most beautiful venues (TN Theatre) we have EVER played in. We were surprised at how amazing you people are here in Knoxville…” That was nice, because I llove the Tennessee Theatre sooooo much. And I love Knoxville. It makes me happy that they’re gonna keep coming back. They played their friggin’ asses off. I saw the people that came up and played drums with Cheese after the show and went to see their band. They tore me a new asshole. They are called Delta Nove, or Delta Nova one. Check ‘em out!! Highlights (Cheese)- Walk This Way was fuckin’ hard hard. They did the versus bluegrassy too. Little Hands was beautiful.
