Sublime?

dunno if yall already have a thread for this but…

For some reason i started listening to sublime alot lately, and i know I’m way late for the “sublime train” being that bradley has been dead for some time. I know its no where close to phish but i dig it… It’s manly because my friend is really into them, but i was wondering what yall thought about them…

for my self, over the past few weeks i’ve been listening to them all the damn time and have really learned to like them…

specifically i have been listening to 40 Oz to freedom and Second hand smoke (but like all of it) and really enjoy them… what do yall think?

in high school we wore those albums out, but I haven’t much in the last five years. Their live stuff never impressed me nearly as much as the albums.

Robbin’ the Hood was always my favorite.

And, the song that begins “lying in my plastic bed thinking how things weren’t so cool to me” drives me crazy. I cannot listen to that song.

I never listened to Sublime… ever. I never even knew one song. I heard a song on the radio the other day, liked it and someone said ti was Sublime. I had no idea it was them, but I liked it. I plan on getting some of their shit somewhere.

they are cool in my book because the dead did a cover of that sublime song “scarlet begonias”.

more than any other band, those Sublime albums DEFINED our group’s existence as always-cruising-around-stoners. aaahhhhhhhh, the good 'ole days.

Best cover band ever!

oh gahhh same here lol… cruisin, chillin, smokin

40oz to freedom is my favorite album of all time, when i first bought it back in Junior High i couldn’t stop listening to it. Let’s Go Get Stoned is prob my fave track on that album, but the whole album flows really well.

Bradley Nowell live acoustic is pretty good too

yeah I love that Bradley Nowell acoustic stuff too!!

Sublime rocks because they really brought all the different genres of people together. The hip hop kids, the pop kids, the granola cruncher kids, and everybody else! Its a beautiful thing!

Manfred Mann and Joe Cocker are SO pissed at you right now.

there is a steady population of South Florida that has not stopped listening to Sublime in the past 10-15 years.

and nowadays, the youngest of them, when they aren’t listening to Sublime, they are listening to Pepper or Slightly Stoopid or some other band that sounds just like Sublime.

i like Sublime too, but my “beachtown skater/surfer kid Sublime fan” phase didn’t go any further past middle school and i am now just a casual fan that knows most of the catalougue.

I still get a good feeling any time i hear them because the music is so good. I just haven’t put them on for myself in probably 7-10 years.

I saw these guys on their last tour. It was probably weeks before Brad died, and a month or two before the last album was released. They were ok. You could tell that at least one of them (guess who!) was really strung out. They played What I got and I immediately was turned off by the blatent Beatles rip. I still like Date Rape.

wow, too hetty for me brah
